Feta Cheese Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2007
This recipe was amazing, I couldn't believe how juicy they came out! I didn't really follow the measurements I just kid of eye-balled the amount of feta. and I used Italian seasoned turkey. They were so quick and easy to make, I will probably try these again, maybe using blue cheese or some other type.

Avocado Tacos

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
These were yummy and a great alternative to the basic taco. I fried my corn tortillas for a minute on each side and I cooked some black beans and onion with a little cumin. I put the beans, avocado, tomato, cheese, cilantro and some spinach on each tortilla and baked for about 5 minutes, just long enough to warm it all up. I will definitely make this again, maybe add more spices to zip it up a bit.

Broccoli Chicken Braid

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
This was delicious and easy. The only changes I made were adding shredded carrots and steaming my broccoli because it was frozen. I lowered cooking heat to 325 and it took about 20 mins.

Gyoza

These are absolutely delicious! I've been trying to find a good recipe for potstickers and this is it. I exchanged ground turkey for the pork because it was cheaper and I thought it sounded good...it was. I agree with another viewer that some fresh grated ginger in the mix would have added a special something.

Spinach and Carrot Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2007
I think this recipe needed some cream or milk to give it a more fluffy texture. It didn't fill my 2 pie crusts and they looked so sad. However, the taste was good, maybe a bit too much nutmeg. I also added diced red peppers and split the cheese - 1 cup sharp cheddar and 1 cup muenster. I also used fresh spinach and just added a teeny bit of water to the pan for a few minutes so it could wilt.

Loved this recipe! I made it as part of an Indian meal and the potatos added a great spicy kick! Good as leftovers too. I think I'd cut down on the oil just a bit.

Potato Chips

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2007
These chips are probably the best I have ever had, maybe because of the effort that goes into it. They were totally worth every minute of it. I didn't have a Mandolin or any other slicer just a very big sharp knife and it took about 45 min to do one potato, but that was all I needed because I maybe ate a quarter of what was made and kept the rest for a snack tomorrow. I also put the slices into a bowl and mixed them that way, it was easier for me; I think I just liked to get my hands dirty. Conclusion, I will DEFINITELY make these again maybe with just cooking spray or spry olive oil

Simple and delicious! I used more cilantro because I love it and less than 1/4 cup Lite Balsamic Vinagrette because I'm on a diet!

Made this recipe as written. It was a wonderful change from our usual salmon (using Chef Paul Prudhomme's Blackened Redfish Magic-try it!) Maple, soy and salmon go together perfectly!

Pizza Dough I

I used whole wheat flour instead and also used Olive Oil. It came out alright, I think it might have been the flour I used next time I will try a combination of flours, dissolving the yeast in the warm water and letting the dough rise a bit. It tasted alright it just didn't get crispy enough.

I used homemade bread crumbs (crumbled bread placed in the oven at 250F for 15 minutes), and added less cheese just to make it more healthy, but it was still great.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2007
My daughter and I LOVE this! I don't add any of the beans because I hate beans. I also omit the water because I wanted it to be more like chili and less like soup. The next time I make it I am going to put the corn in when it's done so the corn stays sweet.

Turkey a la Oscar

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2007
I thought this was okay, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good enough to make very often. My 8 year old daughter loved it, but I think she'd eat anything smothered in hollandaise sauce. I used fresh asparagus because I never use frozen. I also didn't add the shrimp in because I didn't have any. It was pretty easy to make.

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

I made this for friends and they loved it, it was very flavorful and moist. I used sliced center cut tenderloin and it still worked great. I omitted the celery and onions like others had done. The color was amazing. I will definitely make this again!

Carrot and Ginger Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2006
Very subtle flavor-next time I would use more garlic and/or onion. Seems like we had to add a lot of salt/pepper. But it was a nice flavor and very different. My old blender did a fine job of pureeing the ginger, by the way.

Baingan Bharta (Eggplant Curry)

Not having much experience with cooking Indian food I was wary of trying this recipe but it turned out GREAT. My husband and I loved it. The only thing I couldn't find was garlic ginger paste, so i made my own in the food processor (just blended together 1 tbs garlic and same amount ginger).
