Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2004
I followed another reviewer's advice and allowed these to rest a few minutes prior to baking, and then brushed with egg wash before popping in the oven. After baking for the allocated 8 minutes, I brushed them with melted Cinnamon/Sugar Country Crock and then sprinkled with Domino Cinnamon/Sugar mix. I followed the recipe exactly, and these came out fine. The dough was easy to work with, and I had no trouble at all in rolling out ropes approx. 3 feet long. Once baked, they puff up quite a bit and look very appealing. The taste is somewhat bland, but it's not because your flour might be stale, I think the recipe needs more salt. Other than that, I would make these again. They were very easy and fun to make. Thank you!

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2004
Here it is 6:30 in the morning and im eating this like its 10:00 at night. I made this as a treat for church and I dont know if all of its going to make it there. The only thing I changed is the baking time(cut it down to 1/2 hour, because of how my oven cooks,) and i didnt use the baking soda because I was all out, it still came out soooo good. I would recommend to all to try this. I think I'll copy the recipe before I go 'cause I know im going to get asked for it.*do not use wax paper when storing in tins, will constantly being pulling wax paper off popcorn.

Corn Casserole

This recipe is awesome and there never is leftovers even if you double it. you can also try substituting 1 can of whole kernal corn fot one of the creamed corns. it makes it stick together a little more but still tastes delicious.

Easy to make, however, messy to eat. Might be best to eat with a fork. Not a bad recipe, but I don't think I would make again. Thank you though.

Macadamia-Crusted Sea Bass with Mango Cream Sauce

I served this with rice pilaf and a mixed veggie blend. Very good! I took the leftover mango sauce and put it on top of vanilla ice cream with a few slices of fresh pineapple. DELISH! Thank you!

DEEEEEEE-LICIOUS and EASY!!!! Note: I had to use twice as much water and added some seasoned salt and cayenne instead of paprika. Thanks for a yummy recipe!

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2003
Very easy to make, always have the ingredients in the pantry, extremely flakey. My only problem was, once I have this rolled out, I can't get it off the counter...even when I liberally flour work surfaces. Can anyone give me any tips? I didn't have wax paper on hand, so I tried aluminum foil, and it stuck to that, too. I managed to get a bottom crust by pushing pieces of dough into the pan, but my top crust was basically rolled out pieces that I put on the top. It didn't look bad, but it didn't look like a picture perfect pie. Oh well, the taste was picture perfect, and so I'm still rating this a 5 star recipe. Any tips are appreciated. Thank you for the recipe!

Arangini (Italian Rice Balls)

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2003
I've been looking for this recipe everywhere! Thanks so much! These are just like my Nonna's, except she put peas in the middle of hers and occasionally a bit of ground beef or lamb instead of the prosciutto. I made my rice balls pretty large, and molded them into a bell shape like my Nonna's. Delicious! Thanks again!

Barbecued Shrimp

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2003
As the recipe is, it's delicious, but not enough heat for my tastes, so I added a good hard shake of ground cayenne pepper...and it made my nose run. LOL. I also cut down this recipe to make 4 servings, 1 for him, 3 for me. :) I tried another reviewer's suggestion and served over rice and added a green salad.

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2003
You talk about sweet! These made my teeth ache. I followed the recipe as posted, but added 1 tsp. of vanilla extract. Next time I'll try the brown sugar/white sugar combo. Nice easy recipe, probably better for little kids, but it still hit the spot. One and a half cookies and I'm set for the rest of the night as far as my sweet tooth is concerned. Thanks! :)

Very good, however, too much onion. I think next time I will use 1 TBSP of onion powder instead. Or maybe puree the onion. But anyway, really good, very easy, would make it again. Thanks!

A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2003
I don't know what everyone is fussing about. Just as the name of the recipe implies, it's a good, EASY chicken dish. A dish from a 5 star hotel it's not; however, if you need something tasty and in a jiff, this definitely hits the spot. Great recipe, use it many times when I'm on a tight schedule. Thanks!

Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2003
FANTASTIC! I like to slice ripe tomatoes, dip them in the dressing, put them on a slice of baguette, top with a bit of freshly grated parm or grated mozzarella, and top it in the broiler for a minute or so. DELISH! YUMMY! I no longer buy the cruet-type dressing mix, this is so much better and cheaper! Thanks for a great recipe!
