Potato Leek Soup III

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
This soup is easy and delicious! I made a few changes by using only 1/2 stick of butter and light cream instead of heavy, also an extra leek. After cooking, I blended the soup so there wouldn't be such large chunks, but left it a little chunky. It turned out great! I like to add a few dashes of Tabasco and it may be good with some real bacon bits. I might follow another review and make some into clam chowder. Thank you for an awesome recipe!

This came out just wonderful. I did use about 2 cups extra beef broth and also only used 2 boullion cubes. I added Worcestershire sauce, fresh diced potatoes, fresh carrots, frozen peas, corn& green beans.... oregano, basil, rosemary, a little onion & garlic powder, celery seed and 2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 2 teaspoons water to make the consistancey more of a STOUP. Delicious!! Thanks for the starter recipe!

Pita Pizza

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
I've made these for years, they're wonderful! a little tip - if you prefer a crispier pita - split the pita round in half so you have two rounds and as others have noted toast slightly before adding your toppings! baking time decreases of course with the split rounds.

I've been using this recipe to make lasagna for about 28 years, but I've never used mushrooms. My children and all the people I've made it for, love it. So do I! Maybe I'll try it with the mushrooms next time. If you try it, it will become a favorite at your house too!

Excellent! I made these and they tasted SO GOOD! I sauteed mushrooms, peppers, and onions then toppede the ready to bake quesos with jalapeno monterey jack cheese. I made chicken and spinach ones for my son as he doesn't like peppers. Topped them off with sour cream and fresh salsa! Gotta try em no sense ordering them at Mexican restaurants when you can make them at home....they taste so much better!!!! Great recipe THANKS!

Easy Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
I have always made my gravy the oldfashioned way, and havent ever had a complaint. But I wanted something just a tad differnt this year - and found it, adding the soup was a wonderful idea! silky smooth! the soup was salty enough though so I didnt add seasoned salt, just added a bit more poultry seasoning (Bell's Poultry Seasoning is the best!) Thank you JMOR777 for a Great gravy :)

Amazing! The family and I loved it! not only simple but quick. I've always made it the traditional and time consuming way, but its unlikely that I'll use any other but this recipe for during those no time and those "getting home late - I hate traffic" nights! Thanks for sharing!

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
Fall apart TENDER! I've been making this recipe for many years (before this was even added). There's no need to brown roast first! No need for the salt! THE ONION SOUP MIX HAS ENOUGH SALT IN IT ALONE! Listen- Just throw the roast in the crock, just place carrots around it, (Use the cut up potatoes for mashed, it just goes much better with the tender roast!)cover top of roast with onion soup mix and then TOP WITH CREAM OF MUSHROOM SOUP. You'll see it's just fantabulous!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
If you want moist meatballs, then you should BROWN them in EVOO o all sides ....THEN you throw them in the sauce to finish cooking. It seals in the juices! I also SOAK the bread crumbs in milk for a short while then squeeze out the excess. In addition to my additions (hehe)Use the veal, pork, beef mixture and you are sure to be guaranteed a moist DELICIOUS meatball! Anyways- YES -GREAT RECIPE!

Easy Broccoli Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
Very Tastey! I DID thaw FROZEN broccoli in the microwave, strain and pushed down to get the water out. WORKED PERFECTLY and took less time to soften while sauteeing with the GRATED 1/2 onion. (the onion flavor melts right into the quiche when grated!)I also added honey maple ham and threw in some fresh basil. I substituted heavy cream for the milk and WOWZERS! THIS QUICHE turned out SLAMMIN! Afew TWEAKS and it can be even better than the original recipe! Marvelous! My taste buds thank you.

Old-Fashioned Cheese Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
This is delicious! Close to what my mom used to make. Only things I did different was GRATE a 1/2 onion and saute it with the butter. Added dried basil and about 7 SLICES of American cheese. After I poured the cheese sauce onto the potatoes I sprinkled paprika on the top. Great!!!! And NOW it tastes like my mom used to make. Wonderful recipe!! Try throwing in some well done bacon or even deli honey ham for even MORE flavor!!
