Hamburgers and Ketchup Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
We call this Serbian Steak at our house(kind of a joke, we Serbs didn't have money for real steak) and make it with round steak and lots of onions. Takes a few hours of simmering in a slow oven. We serve with fried potatoes and rustic bread. Use organic ketchup to avoid high fructose corn syrup. You really don't need seasoning other than onions. Many people tend to forget that ketchup is quite a complex sauce, which you'll find if you ever make it at home.

YUM! This was so easy! I did replace stuffing with breadcrumbs though. And added seasoned salt. Did not take much time out of my single mommy day!

This braed tastes great, but the batter is very sticky and somewhat hard to spread evenly. Rated on tasted alone, I'd give it 5 stars.

This bread tasted awesome!!! I haven't made banana bread before so I don't have much to compare it to, but it was great nonetheless. One note...this makes A LOT of bread so be mindful of that before you start.

Blueberry Lemon Bread

This tasted good, but the blueberries fell to the bottom, even after flouring them. Hmmm..I wonder if there's another trick to keeping them in the bread instead of on the bottom.

These were really good. I did not have crutons so I had to substitute breadcrumbs. I did a batch with ground meat and a batch with turkey. Both were very flavorfull. We will definitely be making these again!! Thanks for the Recipe.

Cinnamon Coffee Cake II

This tasted good, but it has a wierd spongey texture, I think due to all the pudding. I prefer a dense moist cake, not spongey. I probably won't make this again.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
De-licious. I love pumpkin bread IF it is the right recipe. This is it! I gave some of it away and took some of the leftovers to a friend's house. It got rave reviews. I wish I had kept more for us! I actually baked them in coffee cans and had round pieces. They made for beautiful presentation i.e. a flower with petals made from semi-circles and center sprinkled with confectioners' sugar. This will make it to the Thanksgiving table along with traditional apple pie.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

I made this with Corrine's (10/2006) suggestions and my fiance' said "This is how beef stew should be...this blow's my mom's away!" So..it HAD to be good. Thanks for the recipe, I will definitely make again. Would have givin 5 stars, but since I didn't follow the recipe exactly I didn't think that would be a fiar representation. Served with 'JP's Big Daddy biscutis' from this site.

Peanut Butter Ice Cream Pie From Nestle® Nesquik™

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
This was really good...only reason I give it four stars is b/c it was nearly impossible to get out of my pie plate...and I think it may be ruined now. I used the deep dish pie plate from pampered chef so the plate itself could have been the problem Could have been my fault too. As for the pie itself, I used more ice cream and peanut butter than called for and didn't add the peanuts or put the cookies on top. It was perfect with Recee's peanut butter chocolate sauce and a dollop of whipped cream.

Baked Beef and Brown Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
WOW!! FANTASTIC!! This was great! So easy and inexpensive! HUGE hit with everybody! The rice turned out PERFECT for me and the dish was not dry at all! When you make this recipe, remember that you need to use long cooking brown rice and the rice MUST go in first and then add the remaining ingredients in the order they are given in the recipe. We even made 2 pans and baked them at the same time. Both turned out just PERFECTly!! We will DEFINITELY be making this again VERY soon!! Thank you for submitting what is now our family's new FAVORITE dish!!

Mama D's Italian Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
This is a very good recipe for Italian bread. I do have a couple of suggestions. I do not break the dough apart until after the second punch down. Rather than misting the tops with water during baking, I spray them with a little mist of cooking spray. It browns the tops nicely. Also, cooking for 1 hour is far too long. The first time I made this bread I naively trusted the cooking time listed, set the timer, and went about doing other things. I only realized there was a problem when the fire alarm went off. 30 minutes at 450º is quite adequate.
