10 Minute Zesty Salsa

Submitted by: Kim Morin
Provided by: Taste of Home
The view from our mountain home includes Pike's Peak, so we frequently eat on our wraparound porch in good weather. During family get-together, we often savor this zippy salsa with chips while we feast on the natural beauty all around us.

Donetta Brunner of Savanna, Illinois traces this hearty main dish back to a 4-H cooking project. 'I liked the recipe immediately, and it has traveled through the years with me to become a favorite with my children and husband, too. The only change I've made to the original is to add extra seasonings.'

There 's quite a surprise in store for you with this barbecue sauce. Along with the ketchup, hot pepper sauce, minced onion and a bit of garlic, there 's a can of soda. This sauce cooks up thick and tasty, and ready to slap on some ribs.

A Nice Slow-Cooked Pork

Submitted by: Lori N. D.

Tender pork stewed all day in a crockpot with rosemary, mushrooms, onions, sherry, and potatoes. Simple and delicious, it's easy to make and easy to customize. If you're in a hurry and don't want to chop potatoes, or if it all doesn't fit in the crockpot, you could serve the dish with mashed or boiled potatoes later instead.

A Plus Carrot Cake

Tired of the same old, boring carrot cake? THIS is the Carrot cake you'll love forever! A little different because some of the ingredients aren't what you'd find in a 'normal' carrot cake. My own MOTHER, who despises anything coconut, had two helpings for dessert and took some home!! Don't knock it until you try it!! You'll never go back to that boring recipe again.

Simple, perfect roast turkey just like grandma used to make. Seasoned with salt and pepper, and basted with turkey stock, the flavors of the turkey really stand out. Stuff with your favorite dressing.

A Vegetable Stew - Tabakh Rohoo

Submitted by: Almalou

This is an Arabic vegetable stew made in layers and served with steamed rice or bulgur. My Damascene sister in law recently showed me how to make this. It is delicious. The addition of ghee or rendered butter at the end of the cooking is a traditional Damascene style of cooking; however, these days these dishes are made without the extra fat.

A Very Popular BBQ Sauce

Submitted by: J.R. Neumiller
This recipe has a lot of sweetness and spice, so if you're looking for a classic BBQ sauce that's easy to make, look no further. It is very popular with users of 'ceramic' type smokers and grills, (i.e. Primo, Kamado, Big Green Egg, etc.)

This recipe is for when you want rich, chewy chocolate chip cookies chock-full of chocolate chips and toasted nuts. I am happy to share my recipe with other chocolate chip cookie connoisseurs--visitors to this great website! I guarantee professional bakery results if you follow this recipe as written. Keep in mind, however, that each specific ingredient and step is important to ensure best results. Many test batches were conducted in order to perfect this chewy recipe for a cookie you can really sink your teeth into. If these cookies don't comfort you and make you happy (er, 'chipper'), I don't know what will! Enjoy!

Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

Submitted by: Danielle McQueen
This is the 'secret' Greek dressing recipe from the pizzeria that I work at. The recipe makes almost a gallon but can be scaled down easily. It can be used for picnics and travels very well, since it doesn't need to be refrigerated. This is the best dressing I have ever tasted, people offer to buy it constantly, but if we sold it we wouldn't be able to make enough to use in the restaurant!
