Chuck's Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
So we made this again today. This time we had about 2 pounds of ground beef, also added about 1/2 cup mixed chopped yellow and orange pepper we had on hand, an entire 16 oz can of tomato sauce and the seasoning mix was a Tex-Mex Chilli seasoning packet. Also added a small slice of salt pork to the pan while browning the meat - left it whole though cause I didn't want to be eating it through the chili. Turned out super!!!

Waffles II

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
I was excited to make these waffles after all the great reviews, but they really were bland. They may have been big and poofy but even after adding cinnamon, sugar, vanilla, and even a dash of nutmeg I felt that they weren't as yummy as they could have been. Maybe it was my waffle maker. I bet this would be a better recipe for thin waffles instead of thick Belgian style ones.

Very tasty but the consistency was a little dry. Will definitely make again, but will add more cream.

This is a great recipe. It looks like it isn't going to work and then the icing comes together. Just keep mixing it and you will get great results.

i followed the recipe to a "T" and it was amazing. the only thing i did differently was that i used thin pork chops. this was so good i was disappointed there wasn't more! i will definitely make this again and will be using regular pork chops so that there's more next time!

The Best Vegetarian Chili in the World

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
Great chili recipe. I made it without the crumbles and subbed cans of tomatoes with green chiles instead of using separate cans of each. I also added one can of crushed tomatoes since I prefer my chili thicker. Everyone loved it. Will definitely be making this often.

Vanilla Glaze

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
Used this recipe this week for a cinnamon cake for work. Everyone thought it was store bought because the cake looked so good. Will use this recipe again and again. The milk measurement is off and should be tablespoons instead of teaspoons. I recommend usng more vanilla extract and also using the clear vanilla to keep it nice and white. Thanks for sharing!!

Mac and Cheese Henwood Style

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
This was a really nice mac and cheese recipe. I used more onion than called for (like 1/4 cup total), slightly more velveeta (for a more cheesier flavor) and after tasting it and deciding it needed a little something more, about 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic. Next time I will use fresh garlic (1-2 cloves), and cook it with the onions. When I first tasted the sauce on it's own I wasn't impressed, but once I added the noodles and baked it, the flavors melded perfectly. Don't be fooled by the amount of blue cheese used, you can definately taste it, but in a good way. I will use this recipe again from time to time for something different from the norm! Thanks for posting. :)

Herbed Pork Roast

5 stars, nothing less. I omitted the celery seed as I don't like the taste of celery but everything else was great, I think cooking the pork at a low temperature for a longer time leads to the juicy tenderness that is this recipe. definitely a keeper, thanks so much for sharing!

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
I made this last winter to go with Sheperd's Pie. The flavor of this was really nice. I was a little dissapointed that it didn't have a nice crunchy crust and textured, chewy interior. Next time I will let it slowly rise in the fridge for at least a day (my favorite local bread has a 72 hr rising time). I'll also put a bowl of ice cubes in the oven while it's baking. A baking stone might also help?? Great recipe, I just want to keep tweaking.

White Chocolate Gorp

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
I'm not a huge fan of this (not a white chocolate lover), but I found it strangely addicting! Others also couldn't stop eating it. I did (approx) equal parts rice chex, cheerios, pretzels, cashews, peanuts, and regular and peanut m&ms. I also added about a tsp of peanut oil to the melted chocolate. Even 1/2 the recipe made a ton!

Easy Beef and Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
I have been making this recipe for a while now and love it. I pretty much make the stove top version of this because I don't like to microwave meet and I rarely use instant rice. I also use the low fat/low sodium versions of the soups, and have used cream of muchroom in it as well. All variations of it taste great and my bf LOVES it as well, which means it's a definite keeper!
