Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Called the Cradle of Liberty and Birthplace of the Nation, Philadelphia is where both the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were signed. The City of Brotherly Love was settled first by Dutch, British, Irish, Scandinavians and Germans. Italian immigrants created what would become the famous Philly cheese steak and the pepper pot, while Americans of German decent developed regional wonders like scrapple, shoofly pie, the soft pretzel, and “plain and plenty” dishes like the chicken pot pie. Over the years, Philadelphia has grown in cultural and ethnic diversity, with large Puerto Rican, Jamaican, Asian, and Hispanic populations adding richness to the city’s stellar culinary scene.

Really Easy Bread Stuffing

Reviewed on Nov. 27, 2009 by TheGoddessGiGi
I tried this out and I was kind of disappointed. I did as other reviewers suggested and I sauteed onions and celery in butter then used that to moisten the bread. It was too buttery for my taste and my boyfriend didn't like it either. It may actually be better with just the water. It did look pretty though, and I submitted a picture because there wasn't one up there yet.

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed on Nov. 28, 2009 by TheGoddessGiGi
This cake was spectacular. VERY moist. I didn't have buttermilk so I used a tablespoon of lemon juice and the rest of the cup 2% milk. I was worried but it worked out very well. This will be the only chocolate cake recipe I use in the future.
