Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
Very very good, but I agree with others who have said that the cooking time is too long. Perhaps if you had super thick chops, 45 minutes would make sense, but with regular thickness chops, 45 minutes was 25 minutes too long.

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2008
Quite simply- devine! My only suggestion would be to add about 1/4-1/2 cup finely diced red onions (personal preference. I also lightly sprayed both sides of my bread with Olive Oil spray before toasting. This recipe is delicious!

Real Italian Calzones

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2008
Fantastic! I omitted the mushrooms (cuz my kids don't like them) and added diced ham. Like another reviewer, I substituted mozzarella for the cheddar and used Italian Seasoning for the basil, as well as using olive oil versus the egg wash. These really were fantastic! My kids LOVED them!

Blueberry Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2008
amazing! I live at high altitude, so I adjusted it a little for that by adding 2T additional of applesauce (I did half and half with oil and applesauce), left out 1T of sugar, and only did 3/4 tsp of baking powder. I also baked it in 2 large loaf pans at 350 for 1 hr 10 minutes. ETA: Not even 24 hours after it came out of the oven, we are well into our second loaf! This is very yummy!

Coconut Shrimp I

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2008
Very very good. I followed the recipe to a 'T' except for one thing (which I guess makes it not a 'T' so maybe I followed it to the 'S')....the batter made WAY more than 24 shrimp so for almost 2 hours I drudged and coated shrimp after shrimp after shrimp. And then had to drudge and coat chicken cuz I ran outta shrimp. I also pan fried them because I don't have a fryer (long story there) and pan frying worked out well. Even my picky kids liked it!

Chocolate Praline Layer Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
I found this recipe in a cookbook I have several years ago and it is one of our all-time favorites. The one thing to note about it is that it is difficult to cut once it's assembled because of the whipped cream.
