S'mores Crumb Bars

Reviewed: May 26, 2009
this is the first time ever i didn't take the time to read many reviews b-4 making a recipe thinking to myself how could anyone screw something so easy up.... i did by not reading ur gr8 reviews first as u all suggested u need at least 1/2 cup butter more to make a well formed crust. next time i will add the extra butter but as far as leaving all the crust on the bottom i will not! i like the extra crust on the top! it really makes the bars like a s'more and breaks up the incredible sweetness! these were amazing and all my employees loved them and all wanted the recipe!! definately one of those recipes u can play with using different chips and different marshmallows like white chips and strawberry marshmallows ect. only ur imagination can limit the possibilities!! a keeper!!!

German Apple Cake II

Reviewed: May 17, 2009
this cake recipe is a keeper and this is not the first time i've made it!! i actually screwed up this time and i was making it for my honeys birthday! I forgot to add the nuts, which i was using pecans because i was out of walnuts a rareity in itself, so i just chopped the pecans and put then on top which wasn't nearly as good as baked in and still the cake was gr8!! lol!! one of those "murphy's law" days!! all in all this cake is moist and fruity and delicious! a real treat!!

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
all those who have changed the recipe i can appreciate ur preferences but honestly other than the cook times are about 5 minutes each longer than needed this recipe is great as is & i never have a problem of any sort as written!!amazingly easy & delish!! baked as a thank u gift for my niece and she just went nuts!! i found the bake time is off and my oven is perfect temperature wise so i have to assume that maybe u should watch carefully when baking as i found that both times (lowest) listed are about 5 min. too long!! these will be in my repetore for years to come!!!

Resurrection Rolls

Reviewed: May 1, 2009
these r gr8! i have tryed 2 other recipes on a.r. that r almost the same and as long as they are sealed well they come out gr8! i do roll the whole thing in the butter and cinn/sugar mix when sealed then bake and and many times i drizzle with melted chips when done! everyone loves them!! i do use different rolls and many times i use the giant rolls and two full size marshmallows!! take ur time when making and they are worth the extra time otherwise u just end up with messy empty rolls!! lol!!!

Disappearing Marshmallow Puffs

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2009
this is a gr8 recipe and there is another one almost the same here on a.r. that works gr8 also, although i use a different topping! i melt chips of assorted flavors and just drizzle the top with those! i use 2 large mallows inside and giant biscuts. after sealing well i roll the whole thing in butter and sugar & cinnamon which gives a wonderful taste! if u take the time to seal these well they won't leak and it is well worth rolling them in the butter and cinnamon and sugar after as u will end up with a wonderful treat for urself and the kids!! and even a beautiful coffee cakelike snack for freinds!!

Rocky Road Drops

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
these were good although i did make some alterations, partly from neccesity and partly from from desire. i replaced the raisin because i was out when i went to make them and i used cherries, i used cashews in place peanuts because i like them better, and i used potatoe stix in place of the chow mein noodles as i find the chow mein noodle a little too hard. these were a gr8 break room treat. i did as another suggested and made logs, put them in the freezer wrapped in foil for 45 min. then used an electric knife to make biscotti style slices. they were a hit at coffee time!! will make the next time with white chocolate!!!

have to admit i did alot of tweaking on this and boy did it pay off!! normally i try to stay within the peramiter of the recipe here and am glad i do but i have been sooo tired of the sugary icing as much as i like icing!! so what i did was use 12 oz chocolate melted, 2-8 oz cream cheese & 1 cup butter, and what a treat!!! delish!! have used with white, milk and semi sweet chocolate at different times on this recipe and all have been sooo good and not soo sugary!! try it u'll love it!!!

Slow Cooker Lentil and Ham Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2009
Fantastic! I haven't had lentil soup since I was a kid and forced to eat it! This is one of the few recipes I've tried on allrecipes where I didn't have to make many variations to. I did, however, use a can of stewed tomatoes because I didn't readily have sauce, which gave me more of a broth in the soup. Exceptionally flavorful! Great recipe!

Pistachio Cake II

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
amazing!! we accidently added both pkgs of pudding to the cake mix and didn't realize till they were baking, my sweetie and i were doing a 2gether one nite for our employees and figured we'd try them to see if they were ok b-4 a re-do and boy were they good so i will always use the 2 pkgs in the cake mix!! we added chopped milk chocolate! i iced these cupcakes with white chocolate cream cheese icing spinkled with chopped milk chocolate & pistachios!! everyone went nuts!!! no pun intended!! lol!!! best ever!!! would have given a 5 star but never have given one yet... i'm saving it for something???? lol!!!! p.s. after reading a few of the other reviews i think the 2 pkgs of pudding is the reason the flavor was sooo amazing as some of the others spoke of weak flavor & we found no lack of flavor in ours! they were flavorful and moist and delish!! they were also very eye appealing, brite and lively looking but we had also added about 6 drops of green food coloring!! really these were exceptional and this from a true sweets addict!! the chopped milk chocolate truly added a nice dimension definately a worthy addition!!!

the tropics come for a visit when u serve this cake!! what a delight!! tangy, tasty, delish!!! i made one change, i added 2 additional tblspns of lime juice in the cake mix after tasting the batter just because i wanted a more outstanding lime taste! i glazed the cake entirely when warm and there was still a visable icing and wow was it tangy and tasty!! would be outstanding with ice cream!!! coconut would be exciting as an ice cream to drive home the tropical taste sensation!! we also did some cupcakes with a white chocolate cream cheese icing which was to die for!!! definately will revisit this one!! i almost for got but added a few drops of green food color for eye appeal!!

Apricot Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
i have never given anything 5 stars but this came very close to being the first!! i didnt change a thing even after reading the reviews of at least 20 helpful gr8 people who were nice enuf to leave their helpful hints and this was amazing!! i had to fight myself to keep from doubling the spice as so many had suggested but wanted to see how it was first as it was submitted, my sweetheart isnt as fond of this style food as i, so i figured if it lacked i could always add the next day because i was making this a day ahead of eating it anyway. i did double the recipe as i had promised some taste testing at the office ahead of making it!! lol!! i loved it without the extra spices and in no way found this to be bland or boring!! i did find i had to add only 1 cup additional broth (which since we are vegetarians i used veggie broth)in cooking and that is between the double recipes as it got too thick the last 15 min of cooking and i like very thick soup! i was just a little afraid it would scorch so i added the cup of broth to be safe. there was no need to blend the soup, the lentils broke down nicely and it was nice and creamy when cooking was complete. i did peel and seed my tomatoes and really think the fresh peeled an seeded tomatoes are worth the little extra tinme it takes so come people dont be so hurried spoil urselves!! i found the red lentils at whole foods market and they were worth the drive!! this is an awesome soup and next time i will try with the cubed sweet potato an

Gooey Butter Cake I

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
thank u all of u who care enuf to leave ur reviews cuz without them i would be lost!! i use them on every recipe and don't make anything on this site without first reading at least 20 if there are that many available!!deelishhhh!! i did do a lil' altering after reading the reviews from the greats!! lol!! as follows, i used a chocolate cake mix, all butter, 2-8 oz blocks of cream cheese & didn't add any extra confectioners sugar, 2 tsps. vanilla in the topping along with 3/4 cup white choc. chips! sprinkled top with 2 tbsp confectioners with 1 tbsp cocoa mixed in! this has just the right amt of topping this way and i baked for 35 minutes even with the extra topping and that was the perfect amount of time!! the topping was lite golden brown around the edges, jiggly when removed and when cooled gooey center just the rite amt of topping, cake was almost like a dense cake-like brownie. there is absolutely nothing bland about the topping and the cake was not crumbly or overly dry at all!! this is a keeper!! would be amazing with strawberry cake and will try that or orange next time!!

gr8 flavor as is!! bakes differently from other cakes so although toothpick comes out clean bake a few minutes longer to get a good texture till slightly browned on top!! not good for the bake & fill pan look wise! very tasty!!! did follow others advise to decrease to 3 eggs and add a cup of sour cream for moisture and was amazing! used white chocolate mousse filling and cream cheese icing!! yummmmmmy!!!
