Roasted Green Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
This was really good. I used thin sliced red onion and minced garlic from the jar. I sprinkled a little kosher salt and some cracked black pepper and drizzled the olive oil over top. I did use the red wine vinegar and it was very tasty, it didn't overpower the green beans. I think either way you go - red wine or balsamic depending on your tastes this is a nice side dish.

Cajun Barbecued Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
This is one of the simplest and best tasting chicken marinades ever! I used Simple Cajun seasoning from this site, olive oil vs. vegetable (less oil than called for) pounded three chicken breasts down thin and let this marinate all day. The result was tender, moist chicken that was bursting with flavor.

I used a steam in bag of broccoli, a little more garlic and left out the mushrooms for my husband. Overall, it was very good.

Grilled Chicken with Herbs

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
I definitely recommend doing this on the grill to get the best results. I had fresh rosemary on hand which was nice and used dried thyme and dried parsley. I put everything into a mini food processor to blend. I pounded the chicken down thin and let it marinate for close to 12 hours. If you're not a fan of balsamic - use white wine or white wine vinegar. This is a great marinade. I've tried so many from this site and this is one of the best. This chicken would be great over pasta!

Welsh Cookies

These are so good........ I used all butter and raisins. I also added 1/2 tsp. each of cinnamon and nutmeg along with a tsp. of vanilla. I have to admit I burnt the first batch and then adjusted the temperature of my pan accordingly. I sprinkled them with sugar and froze half the batch. Yet another breakfast treat for my husband to enjoy with his coffe at work!

Once again I failed to go over reviews and got caught. It was too salty, will make again but next time with less garlic salt. We used the jalapeno popper spread to dip them in and we loved that combo.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
I made this and I must say it was excellent. I cut the recipe in half because I had some cute little pans I was wanting to use, and didn't have lots of banana. I topped it off with a light brown butter glaze. Yum!

Cheeseburger Noodle Casserole

Easy and fast, I spiced it up a bit but kept it pretty much the same. Didn't have soup mix so did chopped onion and added some dry onion flakes too. Thanks for the recipe, it was just what my guy wanted.

Burnt Butter Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
Yum! This is a great way to make rice. I used brown rice and had to cook it longer, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. The burnt butter really adds a lot of flavor. It is a little greasy but in a good way!

Baked Cherry Tomatoes with Garlic

These were delicious and a great side dish for grilled steak. I cut the tomatoes in half sprinkled them with minced garlic, olive oil and kosher salt along with some basil. I baked them until the skin was a little blistered.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Delicious banana bread! I followed naples 34102's suggestions and used 1/2 brown sugar and 1/2 white. I left out the walnuts for my husband, but next time I'm putting them in for me! I think this would even be good substituting chocolate chips for the walnuts.

Classic Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
The base is great, but this recipe makes so much, and once I added the noodles, the leftovers were mush. I would recommend cooking the noodles separately and adding them to your bowl of soup. But other than the mushy noodles this soup is great!

Fast Chicken Soup Base

This was good and easy. I only used one onion since I'm not a big fan. And after I added the thyme I thought it was too strong so I skimmed most of it out. Otherwise, it made a great soup base.

Beer Lime Grilled Chicken

I let this marinate for over 24 hours(by accident)and cut the chicken into kabobs. The beer flavor came through, but not much else. It was very moist, but next time I'll up the other ingredients and marinate for 8 hours.
