Best Pennsylvania Dutch Chicken Corn Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
When the weather cools, every Sunday I make soup. I normally make extra to have on our late dinner work days. I used chicken breasts, it is what I had on hand. The only changes I made were frozen corn, one canned cream corn and about 1/2 t of poultry seasoning. Since i was making this recipe at the request of my sweetie I made he home made egg noodles (from this site). My mom used to call this chiken pot pie.

Excellent! Very moist and delicious. I used two bananas since I'm not sure how much a cup would actually be. This will be my go-to recipe for banana bread from now on.

Seasoned Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
These turkey burgers were awesome - even my husband thought they came very close to hamburger and he's a tough sell because he really likes his beef. I used low sodium soy sauce, left out the egg, and used minced garlic from the jar. For some reason onion soup mix works with ground turkey - I was skeptical because if you use it for ground beef burgers they end up tasting like meatloaf on a roll. It's not the case with ground turkey, these were moist and delicious. I served these on 7 grain rolls and will definitely make these again.

Garlic-Pepper Tenderloin Steaks

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
This was a very nice rub. I used about a Tbsp. of minced garlic from the jar, didn't use any chili powder, used cracked black pepper, kosher salt, and added 1/2 tsp. of dried rosemary as it pairs well with thyme. The cayenne gave it a nice kick. I rubbed two nice sized tenderloins with olive oil and then rubbed in the seasoning mixture, coating the entire steak. I let the steaks come to room temperature before grilling - this will ensure a tender steak. Next time I will melt some bleu cheese on top.

Roasted Green Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
This was really good. I used thin sliced red onion and minced garlic from the jar. I sprinkled a little kosher salt and some cracked black pepper and drizzled the olive oil over top. I did use the red wine vinegar and it was very tasty, it didn't overpower the green beans. I think either way you go - red wine or balsamic depending on your tastes this is a nice side dish.

Cajun Barbecued Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
This is one of the simplest and best tasting chicken marinades ever! I used Simple Cajun seasoning from this site, olive oil vs. vegetable (less oil than called for) pounded three chicken breasts down thin and let this marinate all day. The result was tender, moist chicken that was bursting with flavor.

Grilled Chicken with Herbs

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
I definitely recommend doing this on the grill to get the best results. I had fresh rosemary on hand which was nice and used dried thyme and dried parsley. I put everything into a mini food processor to blend. I pounded the chicken down thin and let it marinate for close to 12 hours. If you're not a fan of balsamic - use white wine or white wine vinegar. This is a great marinade. I've tried so many from this site and this is one of the best. This chicken would be great over pasta!

Welsh Cookies

These are so good........ I used all butter and raisins. I also added 1/2 tsp. each of cinnamon and nutmeg along with a tsp. of vanilla. I have to admit I burnt the first batch and then adjusted the temperature of my pan accordingly. I sprinkled them with sugar and froze half the batch. Yet another breakfast treat for my husband to enjoy with his coffe at work!

Once again I failed to go over reviews and got caught. It was too salty, will make again but next time with less garlic salt. We used the jalapeno popper spread to dip them in and we loved that combo.

Banana Banana Bread

I made this and I must say it was excellent. I cut the recipe in half because I had some cute little pans I was wanting to use, and didn't have lots of banana. I topped it off with a light brown butter glaze. Yum!

Easy and fast, I spiced it up a bit but kept it pretty much the same. Didn't have soup mix so did chopped onion and added some dry onion flakes too. Thanks for the recipe, it was just what my guy wanted.

Yum! This is a great way to make rice. I used brown rice and had to cook it longer, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. The burnt butter really adds a lot of flavor. It is a little greasy but in a good way!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Delicious banana bread! I followed naples 34102's suggestions and used 1/2 brown sugar and 1/2 white. I left out the walnuts for my husband, but next time I'm putting them in for me! I think this would even be good substituting chocolate chips for the walnuts.
