Herbed Citrus Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
Very good and very easy - I used lime juice and olive oil. I cut the seasoned salt down to 1/2 tsp. and used minced garlic from the jar vs. garlic powder. I also added 1/4 cup of orange juice to give it more of a citrus flavor. I pounded the chicken down thin and let it marinate all day. It turned out very moist and tender.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
Sliced chicken into strips, mixed with butter and dressing mix. Cooked for less than 4 hours on low before adding soup and cream cheese. Delicious served over fettucine noodles, or even over rice. Delicious! Thanks for sharing!

Easy Pumpkin Cream Trifle

Delicious and easy. Followed the directions exactly, except that I used all the pudding/whip cream mix in between the layers then topped it with plan whipped cream. Shared the recipe with my tennis team who gobbled it up!

Chicken with Cranberries

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
This was super tasty! I was worried about adding the chicken into the "cranberry sauce" becuase at the 5 min mark it still looked more like water and cranberries, so we let it cook uncovered for a few more minutes and it definitely started to thicken up. Then we followed the recipe again from there. We also amazingly enough did not have flour and so we used bread crumbs instead, worked fine for us!

Tomato Spinach and Basil Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
Yummy! I made the soup using fresh tomato sauce I had made from our garden (which had bits of carrots and celery in it already). I sauteed the onions and garlic (I doubled the garlic) and then pureed the whole thing as smoothly as I could get it. I didn't have fresh spinach so I used frozen spinach (drained really well). I made a white pizza with a little of the leftover spinach and used the soup as a dipper. It was absolutely fantastic! This is a keeper!

Fudge Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
Perfectly fudgy with just the right level of sweetness. Many frostings tend to be way too sweet. This one has a nice, full chocolate flavor. It develops a beautiful sheen and will do your cake, cookies, brownies or cupcakes proud. I didn't even use my mixer. Just beat it by hand for a minute or so. Be aware that it will thicken as it sets. I didn't have to add any water - the consistency was just perfect as is. No trouble with its being granular. Easy, too, with a minimum of ingredients. What more could you want? A surefire winner.

Four Cheese Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
Make this tonight and it turned out great. I had frozen some heavy cream, which I defrosted in the microwave. I was concerned that it would get watery, but it didn't. I also didn't have the exact cheeses the recipe called for, so I used a combination of parmesean, swiss, smoked gouda, & feta along with a touch of garlic powder & black pepper. It turned out beautifully...which says a lot for me. (I'm not that good at altering receipes.) Put it over a comination of Radiatore pasta and steamed asparagus. The Radiatore pasta held the sauce perfectly. This kept my 15 & 3 year old boys happy with a new pasta combination. The other plus with this recipe is that it was very easy & quick to put together on a busy karate night for our family. Thank you so much for the recipe!!!!!

Simple Herb Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
Pretty good considering how easy it is to make. To make it even easier (and I think tastier), I just heated up vegetarian chicken broth instead of using the bouillon cubes. I'd like to add some garlic next time I make this. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Indian Style Basmati Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
**mad applause** this is easily as good as the rice at our local Indian restaurant. I drove miles and miles today looking for cardamom, and couldn't find it for less than $10 pre-ground. I subbed a teeny pinch of nutmeg, ginger, and a few whole Jamaican allspice instead. No idea if that's anywhere close to the real cardamom flavor, but this rice is crazy good, and my picky kids agree.

This recipe is a terrific jumping off point. I have made exactly as written; I have used WW flour; I have added blueberries, chocolate chips and even mashed pears and they always bake up perfectly. They truly are the best ever!

Slow-Cooked Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
This is the perfect basic chili recipe. I've used ground beef for this but I've also substituted cannellini beans or additional kidney beans for the meat and the flavor is just as good. I also like to add some Asian chili sauce (the kind you see in a lot of Thai restaurants with the clear squeeze bottle with the green cap). That adds a bit more heat and a unique flavor. Great recipe!

Whoaaa I loved this!! (Everyone else did too...) I followed the recipe verbatim and was pleased with the end result- the only negative was the 40 minute baking time, because it smelled so amazing in the oven that I wanted to pull it out early and dig in ;)

Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
I used Hershey Special Dark Cocoa. The cake is brown but does not have a chocolate flavor at all and the great part is that the cake is not super sweet. It is very moist but not chocolatey enough and I used coffee to add depth. Made a four layer cake and I added chocolate mousse in between the layer which incread the chocolate flavor of the overall cake. I would definitely make again.
