New York Spiedies

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
When I wrote this recipe out I actually typed "French" bread by mistake when I meant to say Italian. But it really doesn't matter. I've seen spiedies served on rolls as well. You can also use chicken, lamb, or pork - whatever you prefer. Live a little!

Better Than Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
I'm rating this 4 stars as is because I didn't alter the spices but they could use some tweaking. I made 1 1/2 the amount of filling based on previous reviews. It was more than I could fit in the pie shell but I think as is, the recipe would not have made enough filling. The spices in the pie are very subtle. I would double them all next time. I also had to cook the pie 1 hour and 10 minutes. It definitely tastes like pumpkin pie, no one would ever know the difference.

Stracciatella II

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
Followed this recipe to the letter. It's just ok for the amount of work. I'd like to rate it 3 1/2 stars if I could. I would definitely double or triple the lemaon next time if I made it again, I doubt I would make it again though. It's just ok.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
This cake is delicious. I made the cake exactly as written and then I melted some chocolate frosting and drizzled it over the top of the cake and sprinkled it with mini chocolate chips. It was beautifully sinful!

Duck and Fontina Pizza With Rosemary and Caramelized Onions

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
Love, love, love this! I have been looking for a recipe like this every since I had it as an appetizer in a gourmet restaurant. This was just like it except they had thinly sliced grilled/roasted potatoes on theirs so I added that. PERFECT!!

Baked Applesauce

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
I adjusted this recipe using 10 apples and it was delicious. I was a little skeptical when I was sprinkling the sugar on that it may be too sweet. It was fine! I consider it more of a dessert than a side dish for a meal. My husband said it tasted like an apple pie and that's the best way to describe it. I don't have a potato masher so I just used my electric mixer to mix it up to the right consistency. Try this one, you won't be sorry!!!!!!

Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
This chicken was REALLY delicious! I normally don't rate a recipe if I've changed it at all, but I did add cajun spice to the dry spice mixture and used a little less cayenne pepper. I also added some onion powder. I made mine in my Flavor Wave oven and it cooked for 1 hour and 55 minutes. It was extremely moist and full of flavor! This is so easy. it's a keeper!!!!

You've Gotta Be Kidding Onions

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2009
I love onions and I've wanted to try this recipe for a while and I'm glad I did. I used sweet vidalia onions and it was a hit at the birthday party I brought it to. I served it with Ritz crackers, but any cracker would work just fine. It does sort of remind me of cole slaw, but maybe that's because I chopped the onions so they'd be easier to get on to the crackers. Very good, surprising taste and I will be serving this again soon!

This is the first recipe I have done a review on. I have made this multiple times and it is awesome. I made it as written. Don't leave out the ingredients you add at the end. They are what makes this recipes flavor so unique.

Wedding Cake Frosting

Reviewed: May 23, 2008
This is a delicious tasting frosting and VERY easy to work with. I was a little wary of beating it so long, but it did work so there was no greasy taste at all. I must say that I wasn't exact with the measurement for the sugar. I just kept adding it until it was the consistency and flavor that I liked. It's not too sweet and very spreadable. I found that I did not need to add any milk. My only complaint was that the frosting never set at all which was fine since a three year old at the party "bumped" into it and I was able to fix it with no visible sign of a repair. It simply spread right out even on the next day. For decorating purposes though, I might have used a different recipe so it would be stiffer. I will use this again for sure.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: May 23, 2008
This was extremely easy and very good. I loved the idea of using frozen chicken. No need to thaw it first just throw it all in the crock pot! Be sure to freeze your chicken breasts separately! I mixed up the sauce the night before and in the morning just put it all together. I doubled the sauce ingredients and used 10 chicken breasts. It cooked on low for about 11 hours. It did seem a little dry when it was still whole, but by the time I shredded the breasts and put them back into the sauce, it melted in your mouth. I served it open faced on bulkie rolls with a slice of provolone and a slice of cheddar cheese on the roll first. This would be a great recipe for a summer BBQ! Be sure to use a good sauce as stated before. I used Jack Daniels and it was just delicious. Thanks for a real keeper!

Guinness® Corned Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
DELICIOUS! A nice twist on corned beef. I made a traditional corned beef and this recipe and this recipe won out for being the most popular. As other reviewers have stated, I did roast it for an additional hour and it could have even been in the oven a little longer. Just check it towards the end of the roasting time. Very tasty! You won't be disappointed making this one!

Pretzel Turtles

Awesome! I made these the with rolos and ended up with left over pretzels and roasted nuts. So, I made them a second time and used caramel kisses. They were great! I cut the cook time to 2.5 minutes. I didn't have time to drizzle chocolate, though, as the family ate them too fast! :)

Quick Brussels and Bacon

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
This was delicious! My family didn't think they liked brussel sprouts, but these were a hit at Christmas Eve dinner. I did make one addition to the recipe. I added a bit of brown sugar to them. I knew the kids would like them better that way and they were very good. I didn't use a lot, just a bit for a subtle sweetness. Thanks for a great recipe that I will make again and again!

Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
These were very, very good. They do taste almost identical to the Boston Market apples. Be sure to follow the direction that says to cook them until they're ALMOST tender as the additional cooking time will make them mushy if you don't. Even if they do get too mushy, they still taste wonderful! Thanks for a real keeper!

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2007
I wish I could give these more stars! They are SUPER easy and smell wonderful while they're baking. They taste as good as they smell if not better! The second time I baked them I changed the recipe a little. Instead of adding ground cloves, I increased the nutmeg to 1 teaspoon. I also added 3 tablespoons of ground flax seed, 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla, 1 cup chopped dates and 3/4 cup fresh applesauce. Then, before baking I sprinkled the tops with a little brown sugar as other reviewers have done. I did not add any oil or eggs even though the batter did seem very dense and stiff. The muffins were as moist as they could be both times I made them. My daughter said they were the best muffins she's ever had in her life! Thank you so much for a wonderful recipe that is easy, delicious and very flexible. Make these - you won't be disappointed.

Curly Noodle Dinner

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2007
A good, quick dinner. I doubled the recipe and it turned very good. A nice blend of flavors. I did add an extra package of ramen noodles as I used a little more than 2 pounds of ground beef. Since the tomatoes contained liquid, I opted not to use the water as I thought it might water down the beef flavoring. It seemed to be just right. A keeper for a quick meal. The leftovers were good too!

Seattle Dutch Babies

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
I'm giving this a 4 only because it was easy and baked up nice (at a higher temp as suggested by others). However, this was very eggy. I've had Dutch Babies in restaurants before and it's always more like a big pancake/pastry. This is like a sweet omelet.
