Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
It's a keeper for sure!! Made this to glaze the "Too Much Chocolate Cake" recipe from this site (which is also FABULOUS!!!) and it worked out perfectly! Exactly the right amount of glaze and perfect pouring consistency. I even copied the photo and sprinkled mini chocolate chips and chopped walnuts on top. Have also made the "Easy Chocolate Bundt cake glaze" from this site...which is also tasty but in my opinion makes a bit too much glaze for 1 cake and needs to sit and thicken for a few minutes before you can pour it over the cake.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

As suggested by others, added 1 tsp vanilla and 1 1/2 times the spices. Also added cinnamon chips...was a huge hit!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
Made this exactly as written...for a quick and simple recipe, I thought it was great and my boyfriend, who loves cake and chocolate, thought it was out of this world. Made the chocolate bundt cake glaze recipe (also quick and simple) from this site to go on top of the cake...a perfect match if you are looking for a truly "too much chocolate cake!"

Raspberry Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
Nice twist on the traditional banana bread! I did make a couple of modifications: Added 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, and 1 tsp baking powder, also used 1 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Came out perfectly moist and tasty! Will make this again for sure!

This is a wonderful recipe! Only 1 small change...I would add slightly less milk to my glaze as I wanted it a bit thicker. other than that, perfect ricotta cookie recipe!

Shrimp Scampi Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
Thought this was great as a time saver! I substituted 1/4 cup seafood stock for an equal amount of the butter, added a splash of white wine, and topped it off with just a very light dusting of seasoned bread crumbs before baking it. Served over pasta.

Snackasnicker Pie

I've made this several times and it always comes out perfectly! I use a prepared "oreo" crust rather than the graham crust. Before serving I swirl chocolate syrup and caramel sauce on the top. Its rich, but very good!

Red Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
I love these potatoes! Only changes...I omit the sugar add 2 tsp garlic to the potatoes/cooking water, and then also GENTLY warm my half and half with 2 additional tsp minced garlic before adding it to the potato mixture. This is one of those recipes I make over and over again!

Giving this recipe 5 stars after following the suggestions of others...doubled the cinnamon and nutmeg, added 1/2 tsp allspice, 1/4 tsp cloves, used 1/2 brown and 1/2 white sugar, and added 1 tsp vanilla. Very tasty!

Apple Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2007
Excellent cake!! As others suggested, I folded the apples into the batter. I also added about 1/2 tsp nutmeg to the apples, omitted the walnuts (only because my dad dislikes them) and made a glaze for the top rather than dusting with powdered sugar. Turned out perfectly moist. Will make this again for sure!

Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2006
These cookies were fantastically simple to prepare, look great, and taste great. They smell like the Piece of Cake ice cream. However, I thought that 2 cups of chocolate chips seemed excessive so I used 1 1/2.

Shirley Temple II

I had all of the ingredients to make this so I whipped one up. It was great without stirring the grenadine in, since you drank everything at once. It was very easy and probably took me about two minutes to prepare. A wonderful variation off of the original recipe.

Cream Cheese Cookies I

I made a batch of these without a press or anything, and they tasted great! It's a very refreshing change and individual recipe. It might be even better if you added chocolate chips or rasins, though.

Super easy! I've made this recipe several times following the avice of others...used a graham cracker crust. Cut my berries in half, and used the whole filling recipe for 1 pie. Came out perfect every time. Its a great refreshing recipe for a hot day and people always love it!

Buffalo Chicken Wrap Sandwiches

We Serve a version of this in my restaurant. Next time try it with a Cheddar-Jalapeno wrap. Use romaine lettuce instead of slaw and bleu cheese. One question..Can a wrap be a sandwich?? They are two different things!

Rhubarb Bread I

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2006
I've made this recipe lots of times and my family loves this bread. I always use frozen rhubarb (found it right next to the frozen blueberries at the grocery store!!) which works out great for me since my dad loves rhubarb and asks for this bread all the time! Some have mentioned that this bread does not have much of a rhubarb flavor...but I have not found this to be the case...could be the frozen rhubarb maybe?

New York Cheesecake III

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2005
Wonderful texture! Couple of modifications...I used a graham cracker crust (just my preference), added 1 tsp vanilla as others suggested, and used sour cream in place of heavy cream (didn't have heavy cream on hand!) Beat cream cheese with an electric mixer briefly then did the rest of the mixing by hand. No water bath used...not a single crack either. Delicious!! Will make again for sure
