Pakistani Spicy Chickpeas

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
We really enjoyed this recipe! I loved how easy it was and it was delicious- I served it over rice as a main dish. It's a good way to take a break from meat during the week, and it's cheap too as long as you already have some of the spices on hand.

Bacon Ranch Pea Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
I really liked this salad- it was easy and tasty. I almost didn't add the onion, but decided to after all and I am glad I did, it added a bit more. I would have given it 5 stars, but my husband didn't like this too much and said it was a 3. However, he did tell me after it's because he doesn't actually care for Ranch dressing that much.

This is very tasty! My husband really liked this alot too. I liked that I put it together easily AND it came out delicious. There's nothing like coming home to a bowl of warm, delicious soup!

Easy, delicious and fast! My family all enjoyed these sandwiches- and it really only takes 15 minutes, which is excellent when you have kids!

Homemade Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
This was really good, creamy and easy to make! My only complaint is that I thought it had too much bread crumbs on top- and the paprika really doesn't do anything for it, just color. Overall, this was good though and I would make it again with less breadcrumbs. This is what home-made is supposed to taste like!

Mini Pumpkin Whoopie Pies

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2009
These are not only easy to make, but they are delicious too! They are definitely sweet, but that's what whoopie pies are supposed to be! They look like they take alot of effort, but they really don't- and this is coming from someone who doesn't bake very much.

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Meat Loaf

This came out very moist and was super easy to make. However, we didn't like the taste. I also thought, while moist, it was actually a little too soft for my taste.

De-lish recipe! I healthied things up by subbing some whole wheat flour, and by using oil in place of the butter in the batter, and added 1 t. vanilla. Yummy muffins!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
I never make white bread, as I am a health nut and usually prefer to make whole grain bread, but since I was making BLTs for dinner last night, I figured white bread would be nice for a change. It turned out very well and everyone enjoyed it. I made this completely by hand instead of using my mixer as I normally do, and I'm glad I did. I think making it by hand is what gives it the right texture. After all, the Amish do not use electric appliances. I used the full amount of sugar and unlike many reviewers I did not find it to be too sweet. In fact, it reminds me a great deal of Wegmans Farmhouse White bread from their bakery, which is a heartier white bread also. I will definitely make this again if white bread is ever required, and I see no need for changes!

Slow-Cooked Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
This is the perfect basic chili recipe. I've used ground beef for this but I've also substituted cannellini beans or additional kidney beans for the meat and the flavor is just as good. I also like to add some Asian chili sauce (the kind you see in a lot of Thai restaurants with the clear squeeze bottle with the green cap). That adds a bit more heat and a unique flavor. Great recipe!

Sunflower Chicken Salad

This was pretty good. I didn't have cubed cheddar, so I used shredded and I also didn't use the celery just because I forgot. Even with my slight alterations, it was pretty good though. I made dill whole wheat bread and put it on there, yum!

Cream of Chicken and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
Very good base for a soup, I did make a few changes I used Light cream instead of Heavy, Instead of water I used chicken broth, I added two extra potatoes and a bunch of different frozen veggies, I let it cook a little longer, but it was worth the wait. Both kids loved it and want me to make it again soon!!

Tuna Noodle Casserole II

My husband liked this, he said the potato chips on the top were "awesome". I, however, thought it could use a bit more flavor, maybe more onion and some spices. Over all, it was creamy and good though.

Mexican-Style Taco Salad

Very good! I made as is except used a can of chili beans instead of plain kidney beans. Topped our salads with tomatoes, olives, yellow peppers, and green onions, then served at the table with extra salsa and sour cream. I will definitely be making this again!

Microwave Fried Rice

We found this to be too salty for us and also the rice did not cook. I don't know what happened, because all of the reviews say how good it is. Maybe it was the ham I used or something? Sorry, it just didn't do it for us.
