This was really good-made it for Christmas breakfast. I think I might add more cheese next time, but otherwise it was easy, hot and tasty. Would make a good potluck dish, too.

I Love My Pear Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
My family has also been making this for years, although without the nuts, and we've always called it "Green Monster", making it with the lime jello, of course. Our biggest trick, is to put the cream cheese and pears in the blender, and mix them there, then add the jello, blend again, and finally fold in the cool whip. That way you get a really nice smooth texture.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
The best ever. Title says it all. Will only use this 1 from now on. The dough for this is a little wetter than other's I think, but the cookies come out sooooo good, just make sure to work with chilled small sections of the dough 1 at a time, so it's easier to work with. Also as another reviewer stated parchment paper is great for the bottom of the cookies to come out perfect. I did change 1 thing, in addition to the vanilla extract, I added 1/4tsp of Almond extract. I love the taste of almonds and a little bit goes a long way.

Russian Tea Cakes I

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
I love this recipe! These are the most delicious cookies. I always bring them to parties and give them as gifts and people love them. The dough is a little dry, so I added a few tablespoons of water to help it come together. I like to flatten mine so they are discs rather than balls. I think they stay crisper that way, if you are not going to eat them all right away. Which is difficult, as they are scrumptious!

Savory Chicken and Apple Pot Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
With some changes, I think this can be a good recipe, but wasn't as is. Definitely needs more seasoning, and using fresh sage and thyme seems to work better than dried. Also it was really really sweet with the filling, and I think a bit less might work better. The addition of carrots and celery really works, and with a few more tweaks, I think it would be wonderful.

Pork Tenderloin with Dijon Marsala Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
All the people I served this to loved it but I think that the sauce overwhelms the meat. It's just too rich I think, and it gets cold fast and begins to chunk. Maybe I will try milk instead of cream next time. Mushrooms in this sauce is a M U S T. Thanks to all those that suggested this. Made a mushroom risotto on the side and served with roasted asparagus. Amazing for dinner parties - this one wows them all. Incredibly easy to boot.

Original Homemade Italian Beef

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
This was excellent!! I trimmed the fat off and used .7 ounce italian dry mix per pound. Also reduced the water to half a cup. I added the pepperoncini's half way threw but if you like them crisper add them later. Put the meat on an onion bun with some pepper and mozzerella than put it in the oven for a few mins. Im def gonna be showing this one off to friends and family. Thanks for this recipe:)

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
Incredible! and thank you. I love, love, love this site. All my other sites are deleted. These were wonderful. Had my grandkids over yesterday for "making cookies" day and these rolled, cut, and cooked beautifully. Saved some today for me to decorate (kids had more icing than cookie, and they took their's home) and they still rolled beautifully! I will never make a different sugar cookie. Happy holidays to everyone.

White Chocolate Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
I've made this many times within the past few months - I made it for a family event and people keep requesting it. It's amazing. Some family members used it to make french toast! My only comment is that in my breadmaker, I had to add an extra half-cup of bread flour.

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
These muffins were a mega-hit at my office pre-holiday brunch!! I tried the recipe as written, substituting the yellow cake mix for spice and they turned out pretty well but, as usual, I had to tweek it some more to make it my own. I like a nice, overflowing muffin top so I filled the cups to almost full because the batter doesn't have very much rise to it. I also added some walnuts & dried cranberries to the batter and topped it with a classic streusel topping. I'm now making them as holiday gifts and adding them to my Christmas morning breakfast menu. Soooo easy and soooo delicious!!!

Maple Cream Bonbons

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
YUM! I am giving this 5 stars on taste alone. The only problem I had was that I froze the balls and then dunked them in the melted chocolate, causing the coating on some of the bon bons to slightly crack as they cooled, due to the temperature difference. Next time, I will make sure they are less frozen before putting on the coating. **ALSO** My husband can't eat chocolate, so I made the coating with with 2 cups of butterscotch chips and one cup of white chocolate chips. It really compliments the maple flavor and the light color lets everyone know that it's maple/butterscotch inside. I am bringing these to a Christmas Eve party...they look great on a platter. GREAT recipe!

Upside-Down Peach Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
This recipe is awesome!! Not sure of why others had a difficult time. Mine came out perfect! I sprayed my muffin tin with nonstick spray prior to the first bake. This wasn't mentioned in the recipe. I also used fresh peaches tht were frozen, thawed, and very well drained. Thank you so much for sharing!

Microwave Cashew Brittle

My husband can't get enough of this stuff! We went to Sams and he insisted we buy a jumbo size container of cashews so I can keep making brittle just for him (instead of as gifts)!!!! The candy does come out really thick, and is hard to spread- but it doesn't matter... its worth it!
