Bran Flakes Muffins with Raisins

Reviewed on Nov. 25, 2009 by Megan L
These were delicious and a big hit with the whole family from my picky hubby to my food-snob 3-year-old, but I changed it a bit, which is why I only gave four stars. Instead of shortening, I used butter, I added 1 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 cup extra raisins because the recipe looked a touch bland, and I used a potato masher to crush up all the bran flakes before adding the rest of the ingredients.

Snickerdoodles II

Used butter flavored Crisco, which I think lent a weird sour/chemically aftertaste. Never used it before & wanted to try it before holiday baking ensues. The texture was great, though they didn't spread very much. Probably will try another recipe next time.

Broccoli Beef I

Edible, but not great. It's pretty quick to put together. I added in a can of Chinese mixed vegetables and some grated carrot for color.
