Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed on Dec. 2, 2009 by Hayley E
Absolutely wonderful! I did end up changing some things for my tastes. I ended up using 3 peeled butter potatoes instead of celery, vegetable stock instead of water to boil the chicken/veggies, and I accidentally put the onions in with this mixture. I did use butter and more onion as suggested for the sauce but removed the onions (and butter with it unavoidably) to try add a little onion flavor to the sauce since I threw them in with the chicken originally. I did add 1/2tsp of garlic powder, too. I used Pillsbury ready made pie crusts and 99% fat free chicken breasts, cut in half and then into cubes/rectangles. My boyfriend loved the fact that this was the first pot pie he had eaten that didn't have slimey or gross chicken in it and claimed it was the best pot pie he's ever had. Everyone in my family adored this dish as well- including my brother who won't touch anything with onions in it. Definitely a keeper, easily modifiable to your needs, and beyond delicious!

Saltine Toffee

Reviewed on Dec. 2, 2009 by Hayley E
I didn't follow the ingredients exactly so that could be my problem. As a reviewer had suggested I used 1/2c brown and 1/2c white sugar. I omited the white chocolate/shortening drizzle. Otherwise, I did follow the recipe as written and my toffee was a bit soft and granular. I'm sure the fault is with me and most likely my cooking times and temperatures. The flavor was still enjoyed so could I perfect the cooking of the toffee mix I'm sure this would be an inticipated treat with my family.

Microwave Pralines

Reviewed on Nov. 30, 2009 by Hayley E
This recipe is delicious! I can never remember exactly how I made it the time before (did I stir it? Did I cook it the suggested time?) but regardless the flavor is always there. Not one batch has come out the same: some are crystalline, some spread out, etc. but they are always gobbled up without complaint. So while I can't give pointers on how to make it the recipe well, I can say it will be scrumptious!
