Gorgonzola and Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2007
I would have given this a 5, but it dodn't originally call for brown sugar to be added to the apple/cheese mix, and the sugar was SUCH a great addition. Also, you WILL need to reduce the amount of cheese to taste. The full recipe amount is just too much. All in all, a wonderful starter recipe, just needs a tweak here and there.

Cheryl's Spinach Cheesy Pasta Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2007
Absolutely delicious! I added Fontina cheese for a little zip and some smoked Mozz as well. Also, was extrememly liberal with the garlic, pepper and crushed red, as we like a little heat. The spinach flavor is not very pronounced, so it's a great way to get non-veggie eaters their daily does.

The BF and I found these a little boring, even after being dressed up with white and dark chocolates. Would not make again

Kickin' London Broil with Bleu Cheese Butter

The combination of butter and spices was a HIT! I recommend doubling the bleu cheese, though. Also, definitely add the chives to the spice mix-gives it a great flavor!

Oven Roasted Red Potatoes

Meh. I needed to add quite a bit of extra seasoning to bring out any flavor. A good starter recipe, but definitely needs some that something extra.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2007
Mmmmm-so good we decided to freeze the rest of the batch for an easy, reheat meal during the week. I doubled the recipe and added 1/2 cup cooked brown rice with the breadcrumb step to give the burgers a little more fill and structure. This recipe had the meat eaters and vegetarians alike asking for seconds. One tip: put a little olive oil on your hands when shaping the patties to prevent sticking. (Also makes your cuticles nice and soft!)These are an instant classic with my frinds.

Asiago Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

OMG!this was amazing...a huge dish if there is only 2 of you, but leftovers are still wonderful. MADE 3 changes, used HALf& Half instead of cream, use lots more cheese (pre-mixed asiago, romano, parm mix from walmart for $1.86/bag...) and sauted onions, garlic and such with butter but added 2 tbsp white cooking wine.(really good) This dish knocked our socks off!!! with an Italian husband,it reminded him of his true roots!!! thanks!!!! happy cooking

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2002
Very, very good. I made the cookies slightly smaller and baked for 15 mins. Came out soft and delicious, not my ultimate (I like a more chewy cookie) but an easy quick cookie. Nuts would be extra good in this recipe with all the brown sugar!

Slow Cooker Chicken Parisienne

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2002
WOW! This turned out fantastic! My husband is not a huge chicken fan, but all I heard during dinner was Mmmmmmm, this is great! I used frozen chicken breasts, substituted whole fresh mushrooms for the canned, and used white zinfandel wine (all we had in the house). Definitely season the chicken with salt, pepper and paprika, still needed a little salt, but then we like things very well seasoned. I served it over angel hair pasta, with garlic green beans. Try this!
