Slow Cooker German-Style Pork Roast with Sauerkraut and Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
I made the Slow Cooker Getman-Style Pork Roast German Style with Sauerkraut and Potatoes. My daughter and I felt it was tasteless and my grandson and my husband liked it.But then what do men know as long as they fill their bellies. I made it exactly as the recipe said except I used garlic salt instead of fresh garlic, the sauerkraut was dry as it just lays on the top of the meat, and the meat and potatoes had no taste I even used cans of pork gravy over the meat and potatoes and it didn't help. It is certainly easy to make and I will make it again but I will doctor it up next time, I might try BBQ sause.I'll try different things. I love crock pot cooking because the mess is cleaned up and the dinner is cooking and I have the rest of the day to goof off. Thank you for all of your great recipes.I copy them then print them out I also send them to all my friends. Tillie Polen Scholz, Bay Shore, Long Island, NY

Amy's Sensational Summer Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
When I submitted this recipe it was intended that the dressing be served on the side and put on the salad to one's liking. If the balsamic is too strong, I have also served it with an olive oil vinaigrette or a raspberry vinaigrette.

Peas and Macaroni Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
SUBMITER's COOKS NOTE: They did NOT copy my directions properly. Should read: Heat olive oil medium-LOW heat. Stir in garlic and onion; cook and stir until soft, about 5 minutes. DO NOT BROWN, just soften. Turn heat to medium; stir in peas, broth, Italian seasoning, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer. Cook for 40 minutes with the lid slightly ajar. Stir pasta into soup; cook at a strong simmer until pasta is tender, about 9-10 minutes (OR ACCORDING TO MACARONI PKG. DIRECTIONS - so as not to overcook. AND USE canned SWEET peas! ENJOY!

Chicken Scarpariello

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
I just made this dish tonite and I have to say, it tasted delicious. I added some lemon juice and parmesan cheese towards the end. My only thing was that I wished the sauce was a little thicker...I know that you can add some flour, but I'm so bad with thickening up sacues/making gravy. I honestly felt this tasted like something from an italian restaurant! I think steamed veggies like green beans, zucchini, carrots, & broccolli tossed in the sauce with the chicken would be a great addition for a nice dinner. Would certainly make it again.
