Gnocchi Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
This recipe was quick, easy and delicious. I did tweak it a tiny bit by adding fresh garlic to the sausage as I fried it, as well as fresh red pepper flakes. So good. Will definitely make again on a cold winter night. Very filling too!

D's Famous Salsa

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
I made this earlier tonight because my daughter's father had a few friends coming over and I wanted to whip up a quick snack for them to munch on while he grilled. I followed the recipe loosely, just getting the base down. I chopped half a large onion in big chunks, threw it in the food processor and diced them further, and added two cans of Rotel, mostly drained, and garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder and salt to taste. I had a taste and it was delicious. I will try using fresh tomatoes and garlic and play around with it a bit more next time, when I'm not in a big rush. Thanks for the recipe!

I made these for my daughters heritage day at her pre-school. We're Irish and proud! The whole school loved them. In my opinion, they taste even better then the ones sold in stores. Great recipe!

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
Made this tonight. I sauteed some diced onion and minced garlic in a tablespoon of butter and then added 5 diced vine tomatoes, which I didn't bother peeling. I subbed 2 cups tomato sauce and two cups chicken broth for the tomato juice since I never buy it. Pureed/whipped half the soup with the basil in my Magic Bullet, Pretty good soup, but definitely way too much cream. I added half the amount called for, and it still took away from the tomato taste. I'd also definitely at least double the basil in the future. Will make again, with a few changes.

It is very refreshing, just make it sweet, or you can use CACHACA istead of the vodka, I'm from Sao Paulo,Brazil, this drink is getting very popular here as well, it is not hard to find CACHACA, some popular brands PITU, 51 Velho Barreiro are very good. Bom apetite. Marcia

Bacon Chicken II

Reviewed: May 12, 2008
My suggestion is to cook the bacon forst on the chicken turning it once too insure that it is cooked...then drain the bacon grease off and baste it with the bbq sauce before serving. I realize that this takes a little more time, but it insures a better product.

London Broil II

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2008
The first time I made this I marinated overnight and I could not believe how juicy and tender the steak was. Absolutely delicious. Even my father in law who doesn't eat much steak was coming back for seconds. The most recent time recent time I made it, the steak was pretty thick so to be on the safe side I pierced it several times and doubled up on the recipe. It marinated for only 3 hours and it was absolutely delicious. You would think it had been marinated overnight instead of just a couple of hours. Great recipe that's become a family favorite

Italian Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2007
I've made these a few times now and they're great. I do make a few changes, though. I use wheat bread, and I layer the sandwiches like this: Garlic butter (on this site) on the outside of the bread, bread, vodka sauce on the inside of the bread, shredded mozzarella cheese, vodka sauce on the inside of the other piece of bread, bread, garlic butter on the outside of the bread. I also cook them in a skillet like a regular grilled cheese. Try them this way and I guarantee you'll love it. Will make these again and again. Thanks!

Garlic Butter

I used this to make garlic bread, and thankfully I realized that a tablespoon of garlic salt would be way too much, so I substituted garlic POWDER and used a dash or two of the garlic salt. It was delicious that way!

Apple Loaf

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2007
This was amazing! I've never had apple bread before, but this was great. Since my fiance is allergic to banana bread (my OLD favorite), this will be made for Sunday breakfasts from now on. Even my 16 month old toddler loved it! (that's a HUGE compliment) I did add 1/2 tsp cloves, 3/4 tsp cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg, and used two cups of apples. The cooking time was perfect, even with the extra apples. Thanks a bunch for this delicious recipe!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2007
Delicious. Even my 16 month old son who usually refuses anything other than a hot dog gobbled it up. I did make a few changes though, I shredded leftover roasted chicken I made the night before, added an extra can of cram of chicken, used chicken broth instead of water, used only one can of biscuits that I flattened and cut into 5-6 strips, and seasoned the mix with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and just a pinch of celery seed. I cooked everything (except the biscuits) on low for 6 hours to blend the flavors (since my chicken was already cooked), and cooked on high for an hour or so when I added the biscuits. Mmmmmmmmm!! I'm happy to gloat that it's better than my grandma's. This will become a household necessity. Thanks!

To Die For Fettuccine Alfredo

If I could eat this every day without gaining any weight, I would. It's delicious. I only use a pound of pasta, though, but make the original amount of sauce, since we like our fettuccine creamy. This is my permanent fettuccine Alfredo recipe.
