Hamburger Rice Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
This easy recipe was a good base to jump off of for a great recipe! After reading some of the other reviews- I threw in an onion, celery & garlic with my hamburger while it browned. After I drained the meat, I added beef soup base to the water since I didnt have any beef broth. For spices I added some chili powder, pepper, garlic powder & a bay leaf. I didnt add any extra salt, since there is plenty in the beef base. This turned out to be a great recipe, better yet with some crusty bread!!!!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
This is very good~ This a great basic "base" to start with; unfortunately, I cant follow any recipe without my own little twists- I too added poulty seasoning, cumin, garlic powder, pepper & parsley. I was out of the refrig. biscuits, so I made my own VERY EASY dumplings.

Pani Popo (Hawaiian Coconut Bread)

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
So good! I made a few changes: I added 5 tbsp sweetened condensed milk instead of three and used 3/4 cup sugar. I also used a 13.5oz can of coconut milk. I used 12 frozen dinner rolls to fill the 9x13 inch pan - 6 is too few. I also topped it with flaked coconut before baking. Very yummy! Thanks!

My 3 kids loved it! I tripled the recipe for the 4 of us- but none of it was leftover! All I had was 8 oz. cartons of yogurt- vanilla & strawberry- so that was what i used. And it was all snarfed up! Thanks for sharing!

Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
MMMMM! I made a few adjustments as suggested~ 2 c. powdered sugar & 2-3 T. milk and a splash vanilla...I had to make brownies for girl scout sleepover, and am waiting for them to chill so I can cut/wrap. Right now, my daughter is trying to scrape every last drizzle out of the bowl!!! Unfortunately, some poor girl scout is going to have to get a smaller one than everyone else, because I'm snitching some for myself!! I'll have to bake a pan for home tomorrow!!! Thanks for the suggestions! Its a keeper!

This is a great base, but I found it needed some tweaking to get to my liking. I add garlic and use bacon instead of ham. Thanks for the recipe!

Tomato Soup I

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
This is our favorite tomato soup recipe! Ever since I found it, it is the only tomato soup that I make. It has replaced my mother-in-law's recipe that she got from her mother in law~ that she's been using for over 50 years. Now, she only makes this recipe. I like to cut back on the cream, (or use 1/2 & 1/2) and i use the immersion blender & mix up 1/2 of the tomato mix to have the chunky blend, great with grilled cheese sandwiches or crusty french bread. MMM, great one to try!!!!

Pecan Pie Muffins

Reviewed: May 22, 2007
The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was because of the difficulty trying to get these out of the pan in one piece, even though I used nonstick pans and greased them generously. Next time I will try the spray with flour. Otherwise, we ate all of them, broken or not :)

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: May 22, 2007
I made the muffins exactly as stated, but they came out looking rather unattractive and though they tasted good, were heavy and somewhat dense. I made this a second time, and prepared the cake mix according to package directions, and it was fantastic! Very moist and airy and flavorful. I do not know which way these were itended to be made, but I would recommend preparing the cake mix as directed before adding the pumpkin and spices. I also stirred in some walnuts to give it a nice crunch.

Pretty good. I had never had apple and sausage stuffing before and I enjoyed the flavor. I used almonds instead of water chestnuts, because hubby doesn't like water chestnuts. Next time I will use water chestnuts and make hubby pick them out.
