Swabian Meatballs (Fleischkuechle)

Tasted absolutly fab. Whole family loved it. I served them with brown gravy over egg noodles. The only problem I had was the meatballs tended to fall apart while frying so I had to tranfer them to a baking sheet and bake them.

Sour Cream Burgers

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
from all the reviews i thought our family would be over the moon for these burgers. they were good but just not what we expected. They were falling apart by the time they were done, and the flavor was just alright. Definatly need more breadcrumbs or maybe and egg to try and keep these burgers together. Also i suggest if you do make these to mix the soup mix with the sourcream to sofen the onion soup mix a bit. I think I will stick to my usual burger recipe without dumping sour cream in them. I give this 4 stars for the flavor. If the burgers would have stayed together then it would have been a 5 star.

I preheated the cast iron skillet with veg oil as recommended by another reviewer. Poured the batter into the pan and then drizzled honey on top. This turned out excellent. Will make again.

I made these exactly as the recipe calls for. They are great. It made a lot for just the two of us. Would be great for a party appetizer. They also freeze well. Just thaw in the refrigerator when you want them. We will make them again.

This is the best!!! I actually put in more vegetables than the recipe calls for but thats just the way I cook. I never follow a recipe exact. Also I use Old Bay seasoning in it. and Real Cream! This is such a hit I make 18 quarts of it once a year for our soup supper. I actually have people give me money to make it for them. YUMMY!!

Made this twice so far. First time was bland . Second time double up on the spices. Plus add cajun seasoning for extra litttle kick.

Bubble Pizza

The recipe definitely has alot of potential and was a great idea but there are a few errors in this recipe. First the biscuits didnt cook all the way through. so I cooked it longer and burned the other ingrediants. I would revise this recipe so that you start cooking the cut up buscuits in the oven 5-10minutes before adding the meat mixture and everything else and cook it for the given length of time. When everything is done add the cheeses. and cook a few minutes. It will taste better if the buscuits are cooked.

Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
My 3-year old granddaughter and I made these. I substituted applesauce for the oil and Egg Beaters for the eggs. The taste was delicious and the texture reminds me of a soft brownie which was great! The only disappointment was that we could not roll them into balls. The dough was so sticky I had to drop the dough by teaspoons onto the cookie sheet. I put the dough in the freezer as suggested by another reviewer but that didn't help. They tasted good but certainly didn't have the presentation like the picture.

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
I marinated the pork chops in applejuice/soy and wow they were really juicy and tender. I will definitely do that again. This recipe is really good but no one cared for the apples. I guess we see apples as a dessert and not part of a main course. Will definitely make this again but just without the apples or brush the apples off after they bake. Thanks for the new way to make pork chops!

Marshmallow Treats

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
My treats turned out moist, and gooey. Just like they should. No teeth busters here. I did follow the suggestions in some of the other reviews. And used 11.5 cups of cereal to a 16 ounce bag of marshmallow, and a whole stick of butter. This worked out so well. Everyone has loved them. Will make again and again.

Slow Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
I really enjoyed this. But my husband thought it was bland. I thought it was a healthy alternative in comparison to others that I've tried that is mostly a gravy. I liked this alot...because of the mix of flavors, Also please note, this dish is even better the second day after a night marinating in the fridge!!!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

This was pretty good but seemed to need a little more zing! I cut up the chicken breasts into cubes, cooked them and then put them in the crockpot with the rest of the ingredients. It seemed simpler that way.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

These are very good but I made the mistake of flattening them and they spread out really thin! When I left them as balls then they looked a lot better. I will try the OJ next time. All in all its a good cookie.

Pesto Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
This is the absolute best pesto cream sauce recipe. I have tried a few on this site and this is by far the best. The only change I made was I cut the butter down and scaled it to 4 servings instead of 8. If I could give this 10 stars I would. It has all the flavor and so creamy. My family devored this meal. There were no leftovers to my dissapointment :( The recipe needs no change at all. In my opinion you dont need to waste your time finding a better pesto cream sauce. I am sure this would go great with other meats such as chicken or crab as well. Thanks so much for an absolute fab recipe!

Creamy Pesto Shrimp

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
I have noticed with this recipe that everyone seemed to change it. The added this or did that, then rated it at 5 stars. While it is a good recipe it lacks flavor which is a common compliant with most reviewers. It is also kinda oily so I suggest cutting the butter and simmering longer. Even then it was oily. Overall it was ok I found another recipe called Pesto cream sauce which has all the ingredients already added by other reviewers from this recipe. It has the onions, garlic and spices and it a fab 5 star recipe

Big-Batch Butterscotch Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Well, I was unsure how to rate this. I bake a LOT of cookies, and when I was done mixing them I thought - these are no more that a chocolate chip cookie, without the chips. I added some crushed Werthers and pecans and then divided the batch and added mini semi sweet cho chips to one, butterscotch chips to another, and topped the third with mini milk cho kisses. They all came out nice, but would have been pretty dull without. I rolled them in 1/2 brown sugar/white sugar before baking. Makes a grand bunch of cookies. I also sprayed the cookie sheets due to the Werther candies. They tend to run and stick.

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Incredible! Just like my Gram used to make. I follow the recipe to the letter except that I add a tad more lemon flavoring and more lemon zest. I've made this several times and it's usually gone by the end of the day! My hubby absolutely loves this pie (and so do I)!

Surprise Apple Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
A neighbor gal brought this salad to my son's first birthday party. It was truly amazing! I asked for the recipe right away (as did all the other ladies there). The only difference in her recipe and this one is that she also added a box of Vanilla Pudding. It gives it a really good vanilla flavor. A great side if you need something light and sweet!
