My family LOVED this recipe! I cut the sugar by at least a cup, I also did half a cup of chocolate chips and half a cup of butterscotch chips.

New York Cheesecake III

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
This was a favorite when I made it for Thanksgiving. Instead of cream, I sub sour cream and added a little bit of Vanilla. I didnt have any problems with it cracking even with not taking the time to let the ingredients warm up to room temp. The crust was a little too thick for our taste. It was very easy to make, and will be making it again.

Chicken Wild Rice Soup II

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2007
This soup was exactly what I was craving! It was easy to make and turned out well. I precooked the rice in the microwave instead of soaking it. I also added some fresh sliced mushrooms with the celery and onion. yum!

I made this soup for the first time last night for a potluck we had at work today. It was a HUGE hit - everyone wants the recipe. This is a keeper for me!

Beef Bourguignon I

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2007
Despite some of the negative reviews of this recipe, I have nothing but good things to say. I made a few changes to the recipe, but thought it was specatcular. I had to make a bit of extra "gravy" (marinade) when I re-heated it after sitting for a couple of days in the fridge, but that was easy and it turned out marvelous. Some mentioned that you should use a "good" burgundy or Pino Grigio; I myself used the burgundy cooking wine I found at the grocery store. I substituted some sherry wine designed for cooking for the cognac, (both MUCH cheaper than the liquor store!) and I found the recipe one of the best I've had. Summary: marinade for 3 days, and rely on your local grocery store to provide the cooking wine(s) for you!! It is absolutely superb over homemade garlic mashed potatoes! I would serve it to God.

Baked Chicken on Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2007
This recipe was easy and good. I left out the canned mushrooms and only used 1 pouch of onion soup mix. It had a lot of flavor without being too salty.

Sweet Potato Pecan Pie

Wow! I overcooked the topping on this the first time I tried it. (The TOP of the pie should be 5" from the broiler, not the rack) But it still disappeared! I've since baked it to perfection and several people have asked for the recipe!

Caramels

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2005
Wow! Soooo good! This is my first attempt at caramel, so I followed others advice and calibrated my thermometer. It was way off! I basically used it as a general guide and kept doing the water test until it was the consistency I liked. I boiled it roughly 20-25 minutes. Well worth the time. I can't wait to share (what's left of) these with my family for Christmas!

I lost my recipe and decided to look on here for another...this one is great! It was too thin after all was done, so I added another 1/4 c. peanut butter, and 1 c. oats...wow! Delish! Everyone at work loved them.

Double Chocolate Chip Macadamia Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2002
These cookies were gone in no time! I substituted coconut extract for the vanilla and they were very tastey! Next time I will probably use a little less chocolate chips, there was a lot of stuff and not much cookie. Still very delicious though!
