Green and Bleu Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
Oh Sunny how I truly love you after making this! Restaurant quality by far! The only thing I did differently (I HATE it when people say that) is that I served the bleu cheese on the side along with a side bowl of feta. That way my non-bleu cheese loving friends had an alternative, and there were a few in the crowd. AMAZING salad and that bleu cheese makes the dish. WOW! Everyone loved it! Thanks to you!

Creamy Italian Dressing I

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
This was great! I was making dinner for a guest (and my fiance) tonight and could not find a salad recipe I wanted to make; the ones I found were too labor-intensive - I was running errands all weeekend and didn't have oodles of time to spend in the kitchen making any of them). Since I had bought a bagged salad mix last week that I have not gotten around to using, this was perfect! I was able to use up something that would have had to been tossed otherwise AND my dinner guest LOVED this!!! Prep couldn't be easier too (I didn't even have to chop my onion!). My only regret is that I only mde half the recipe (I only had 1/2 cups worth of mayo left in the fridge) lol! :-( My only change was to add a little milk to thin to my liking (as is, this is very thick - almost too thick, IMHO). If it weren't for the thickness issue, I would have given 5 stars, but tastewise, this is certainly deserving of the most superb rating. Thanks for sharing! :-)

Use this all the time!! Even make pizza on the grill with this recipe. But be sure to use bread flour NOT all-purpose! The last time I added parm cheese and italian seasoning and mixed it in. It was very good too.

Very good. The kids even ate it. Left out the onion and pepper. Other than that made it as written.

Apricot Chicken and Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
This is a recipe I got from a close friend of mine and I forgot to say add a bit of balsamic vinegar to the chicken towards the end of cooking. I also suggest warming the apricot preserves up for a few seconds so it distributes evenly. Try it and let me know what you think.

Lemon Poppy Seed Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
This is overall a good recipe! I would suggest as many others have to add much more lemon to this recipe. Even adding 1/2 cup or more of fresh lemon juice and the zest from the lemon still leaves a mellow lemon taste. This is also a bit more of a dense bread. Doon't skip the orange juice topping, it is excellent! I poked holes in the top of my jumbo muffins (baked at 325 for 30 minutes) and poured the orange juice topping on. This would also be great with vanilla glaze from this site.

I was a doubter but trusted the rave reviews and it didn't disappoint! Served with roasted red baby potatoes, ceasar salad and and an orange fluff salad. The plate was beautiful and the meal was amazing with an easy, wonderful anchor of prime rib roast!

Hot Spinach Red Pepper Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
Loved it! Used fresh spinach (1 bag) and cooked with the red peppers and a little garlic then mixed in the cream cheese, milk and parm. The pepper flakes add a great level of flavor and just a little heat. Delicious on toasted bread!

Easy Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
There is a difference between a country and a "city ham" I usually buy a spiral cut pre-cooked ham that just needs to be heated at a low temperature for a couple of hours. So I will try this with the crock pot on low for 2-3 hours. For more on the types of ham: http://bbq.about.com/cs/pork/a/aa112903a.htm

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
Made these for a cookie exchange, and they were very good. I upped the sugar by half a cup, did 1/2 c Margarine (out of butter) and 1/2 c shortening (to prevent spreading); and added 1 tsp butter flavoring. I rolled them out to about 1/4" and they ended up being crunchy, which was ok with me. Thanks!

Sausage Potato Casserole

Fantastic! Very easy, quick and tasty. I didn't bother to peel my potatoes and it was just fine. I sliced mine in the food processor so it made it twice as fast. Mine only took a little over an hour to bake. Thanks for a great recipe!

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
These are pretty good. I made 2/5 recipe and got about a dozen pancakes. Mine came out kind of flat, so maybe I thinned the batter out too much. I only gave this recipe 4 stars because I thought there was something missing in the flavor. I'm not sure what it's missing - more salt or add some vanilla?
