Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
Is there a single daughter in the Rempel family available so I can marry her? This meatloaf was so good, I want to be a part of the Rempel family :)

Pumpkin Muffins II

YUMMY! Lots of pumpkin spice flavors. I used 1 15 oz can of pumpking & subbed applesauce for oil. Made 24 regular sized muffins. Thanks for this yummy (moist & flavorful) recipe!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
I had 4 bananas so I thought I'd make 12 muffins instead of 10. I also had a fruit nut mix in the pantry that I thought I'd mix in. Macadamia nuts, dried cranberries and apricots and white chocolate chips. For the topping I mixed in crushed macadamia nuts instead of flour. The muffins are delightfully sweet and flavorful. They rise beautifully and I'm thinking I might eat the whole pan before my husband comes back from golf!

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
Delicious. I used about half the sauce and cooked a panful of boneless chicken breasts and some thighs in an oven bag. I served chunks of the tender chicken breast with a package of Green Giant Immunity blend vegetables (cauliflower, orange and yellow carrots and dried cranberries in a butter sauce) over some angel hair pasta. Great fall flavors. We loved it! With the remaining chicken breasts, I made Fruited Curry Chicken Salad by Karen L. Baker. This was also fabulous. I packed them as wraps in our lunches. I am using the thighs today to make a chicken tortilla soup.

Fruited Curry Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
Love it! For the chicken, I used the recipe Honey Baked Chicken II by Grechen Ramey (only I used chicken breasts and cooked them in a oven bag). I was making it for dinner and cooked twice the amount so I could make this salad too. This recipe has curry and honey in it and made the chicken super delicious. I used dried currants instead of raisins, because I had them on hand. I would definitely do that again. They are smaller and go a little bit better with the curry flavor than raisins. The colors are great and I think next time I might try red grapes instead and a green apple to mix it up.

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

This was tasty and different than anything that we had tried before. The apples were amazing and throwing the pecans on top was an extra bonus. The pork was good but the apples were the star. It smells like fall!

This was yummy and cheesy and besides the chopping not too hard to throw together. We added a pound of hambuger to it to make it a complete meal and it was well recieved by the whole family. Good dish to use up those extra garden veggies.

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

Besides for peeling and skewering the shrimp this was an amazingly easy recipe and it tasted awesome! My kids chowed down on it too the point that I was worried they would get sick from eating too much. My oldest is already asking when we can have it again. This is a keeper!

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
This was very good! I have a family of three so I made two smaller dishes - one is frozen. I did not use a 3.9 pudding mix, instead I went for the larger size of 5 oz. just to give it more chocolate flavoring. The brownies I baked and then sent directly into the fridge and they were nice and cakey for us! I will definately be making this again!

Grandmother's Pork Chop Dinner

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
This was a good "starter" recipe, but it definately needs something more. My family and I both agreed that making gravy for it would have been better, and next time we will do without the bacon cooked into the whole dish and actually crisp it and then put it on top instead (we do not like bacon if it's not crispy!). The only variations that I made while creating this dish were I used turkey bacon and onion powder (due to texture preferences).

Sauteed Apples

These were really good. The apples came out perfectly cooked and were served with "Grandmother's Pork Chop Dinner" from this site. A great combo as the sweet balanced out the savory.

We were not really that impressed. The bread was too dense and dry. It is rare that fresh baked bread lasts more than a day in this house.

Cranberry Sauce I

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
I'm really not a cranberry person and this was almost too tart for me. However it was pretty good. I decided last minute for Thanksgiving to add Cheese-Cake flavored pudding, it was super yummy for me after that. It helped calm the tart taste down and it was like a Cranberry Cheese Cake.

This was an amazing recipe, just like my Grandma use to make, I was searching high and low for her recipe and could not, so I came here and found this one, I just added 2 tsp of Black Walnut Flavoring (like Grandma use to make) and my Dad did'nt know the difference. Thanks for an amazing recipe!!!!!

Easy Chicken Fajita Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
I made this soup yesterday, and it was pretty easy to put tegether. I did use some taco seasoning instead of fajita seasoning thought it's probably about the same thing. I also added an additional can of chicken broth, because it seemed to need more. It was not too spicy which was good for me, but more hot sauce could be added for those who like it that way. Nice and tasty on a cold day - we had a high of 39 - yuck!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
I don't own a breadmaker, so I prepared the bread portion of the recipe as recommended by another reviewer (one of the reviews on the main "Clone of a Cinnabon" page). The bread didn't double in size despite letting it rest for an hour. I bought brand new yeast too, so I'm not sure what happened. Despite that I had enough dough to prepare the recipe in the dimensions written and they were awesomely delicious. My wife and son both loved them too.
