Raspberry Trifle

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2006
The Raspberry Trifle was very good. I served it in individual cup and it looked very fancy. Yes the raspberries were very tart so I would suggest blueberries(that is what I am going to try next time) or just not serving it to children. I did have to use store baught whipped cream since my blender was not working and it turned out very yummy. This overall was Fresh and creamy!

Perfect Rib Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2006
This rub was perfect. The rib roast came out tender and juicy. Half of my siblings were dredding the roast, considering that it is usually tough and flavorless, but everyone went back for seconds and said it was delicious!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2006
These were great. I did substitute crisco for butter to make a more fluffy cookie after first trying butter and having disc in the end. All the kids loved them!!!

Autumn Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2006
This was fabulous. The tartness of the apples and crunch of the topping were perfect. I served with ice cream and don't think I would do it anydifferently. I did double the topping for a little extra delight!

Granny's Corn Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2006
These were very good! When I fried them I used a pepper oil to give the tortillas an extra kick. I won't go back to store bought tortillas again.

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2005
I have never been a real jambalaya fan...but this is the BOMB! I love the combination of chicken, sausage and shrimp. The only things I do different... I don't like cooked celery, so I omit that...and I serve it over red beans a rice that I make from a package, instead of plain white rice. Oh I also use uncooked shrimp and add it a little earlier to the crock pot...cooked shrimp tends to get too chewy. YUM YUM YUM - always requested...and this year we're having a Cajun themed Christmas of which this dish will be the main meal.
