Raspberry Oat Bars

These were FANTASTIC. So goooood! I followed other's advice by adding a few splashes of milk to the bottom layer of mix to hold it together and I also substituted lemon juice for the water. Super easy! You should try it.

I didn't care for this. It would probably be better witihout the addition of cooking sherry.

Yum! I'm going to give this 5 stars (although i made it with vanilla extract and no icing). These were really good- i'm going to use almond next time though.

These meatballs were just okay. They were bland though and it tasted like they were missing some spice. I think I will try a different recipe next time.

Orange Tapioca Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
Good but a little dull without additions. My mom and I added about a 1/2 tsp of vanilla to the jello/pudding mixture. Also added another entire can of mandarine oranges and about a 1/2 c of coconut. To serve with a ham dinner...a five-star dish with the add-ons!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

This was soooo good. I took this to a friend's house last night and everyone raved. I used some chicken sausage I had instead of ham and it turned out great. Very fast and easy. My husband wants me to make it again tonight.

Jalapeno Cheese Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
Fantastic bread. I made several loaves for Christmas gifts, and everyone loved it. I made it fairly mild because of family taste, but I found a jalepeno cheese gave the taste of the chile without as much heat. I also boosted the flavor with small can of mild green chiles. Great companion to soup.

Excellent cookie and very easy. After making them once, decided they weren't as spicy as I'd like so I doubled the cinnamon and ginger. I also added a 1/2 tsp of fresh ground black pepper for an extra kick. Very good

Foolproof Rib Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
Absolutely the easiest way to make a rib roast. Simplest is always the best. I did add an herb mix from penzeys as part of the crust. I timed my rolls to be ready to go into the oven when the meat came out to rest before carving and it all came off beautifully. I'll never make my roast any other way from now on. Thanks Salsiepie

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
I just spent all morning making these. Like others suggested, I used half the icing. I then put them in the fridge for an hour to make them easier to work with. After i balled them, I put them in the freezer for one hour. I used almond bark and it was such a pain. It hardened pretty much on contact, and did not turn out all pretty like I had hoped. It was easier for me to spoon the almond bark over the balls rather than dip then into the bark. I used cherry cake and cherry frosting with chocolate almond bark. They taste really good, but not pretty enough for me to take them to a Christmas party like I had hoped. Any suggestions on how to make them look better??? Should I not have used almond bark?

Garlic Cheese Chicken Rollups

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
I actually made these with thin slices of pork loin. They turned out really well. I though the garlic cheese was a bit bland, but I used a homemade version of it. The one person that I thought wouldn't like it said they were really good. He liked the change from how the chops are usually prepared. I will use again...and with chicken!! :)

Cuban Midnight Sandwich

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
These were pretty good. I used them on my George Foreman grill with a little pressure. I just like that I can customize it for each person. I could only fit 2 sandwiches on at a time so it was difficult to have everyone's done at the same time and still hot...but a nice change of pace!! Thanks!!

Lemon Chicken Tenders

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
There was WAY too much sauce and it was very sweet. I actually barely drizzled any on half of them since I was afraid that the kids wouldn't eat it. I was right. I was the only one that didn't mind the sauce as much, but it was a bit much even for me. I think that it could be great with some tweaking but I am not up to that!! Thanks for a new idea though!!

Oatmeal Fruit Cookie Mix In A Jar

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
I thought these were pretty good -the texture is more cake-y than chewy. My husband and son both liked these. I was out of wheat germ so I upped the quantity of oats to 1 1/2 cups and it seemed to work well.
