I made this for Thanksgiving this year. I got lots of compliments on it. It was very easy to prepare. I made it the day before and baked just before serving time. It will be a regular!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
OMGosh, I am not the biggest chocolate fan, but do like an occasional brownie. I made these and my family went totally nuts over them!!! They were gone BEFORE dinner. I made another batch for church. It's almost 3:30 AM, just got up to get a drink and caught the hubby in them....half the pan is gone. I am now waiting on pans 3 and 4 to come out of the oven. LOL UPDATE: For Thanksgiving I made 2 more batches. One of them I used a cup of andes candies broken up instead of chocolate chips. OMGosh they were awesome. If you like mint and chocolate you have to try this! These brownies are the bomb I wont use any other recipe for a brownie. I have been ask to make them for church and for the school teachers party.

Italian Sausage Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
I have a very similar recipe from Better Homes and Gardens that also uses sausage and it has always been my favorite. This one interested me because it said it served 3. For just my husband and I for me to make lasagna, it means lots of leftovers which he eventually tires of. This still made too much but it was very delicious. This will be my favorite lasagna recipe from now on!

Felix K.'s 'Don't even try to say these aren't the best you've ever eaten, because they are' Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
These definitely are the BEST chocolate chip cookies! My 9 yr. old grandson agrees too! I made them just like the recipe says except I traded 1 stick of margarine for 1 stick of butter. I baked them at 300º for 17 min. and let them cool for 20. They didn't look done when I took them out of the oven but after setting they turned out just like they were supposed to

Very good. I did not have chicken, so I used ground beef that I browned before hand and added to the other ingredients. Added crunched up Taco Doritos to my bowl. Yummy!!

Grilled Pork Chops with Balsamic Caramelized Pears

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
This was very delicious, and I was happy to find a different use for pears. Next time, I will let the chops rest in the brine for longer, and throw the pears in a few minutes after the onion - they came out a little too soft. Thanks for the great recipe!

Prize Winning Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
This is so delicious! I used this recipe on thick bone-in pork chops and barbecued them for about 15 minutes. I smothered the chops in bbq sauce and transferred them to a 170 degree oven for another hour. They were extremely tender and tasty! I keep a shaker bottle of this spice mix in my pantry now!

Turkey Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
This is a very good basic recipe, but I'm giving it a 4, because it lacks any spices. Usually I hate people who review with lots of changes, but this one did need spices. I made it with one can broth and the liquid from crock-potting several turkey thighs. I used fresh parsley, thyme, rosemary, three minced garlic cloves, oregano and salt and pepper. I also used 4 cups of turkey and 2 cups water with 2 bullion cubes, so that I ended up with more turkey and noodles and less like soup. I used dried noodles as I didn't have frozen and canned peas for the same reason. As I made it, it was a solid 5, it just needed seasoning.

Swedish Spareribs

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I made this today after reading the many good reviews. I probably won't make again mostly because I must not care for the allspice. The only thing I did different was I only had boneless country style ribs, which I thought that they would be even more tender. I expected that the broth would have thickened after comments on other reviews, but I had to add cornstarch.

Breakfast Casserole III

I made this for a church brunch, using regular frozen hash browns for one and O'Brien for another. They were gone in a flash! Having never made it before and wondering how it was, since I didn't get any, I found my 14 year old son and asked him. His response? "MAKE THIS AT HOME!" It was a huge hit!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
These were pretty good, but not a 5. I did what others suggested, adding vanilla and I also used 1/2 marg and 1/2 shortning, because I didn't have enough shortning. They were VERY sweet. Sweeter than I generally like. And I'm not so sure about the texture. They also really stick to the pan, even my Pampered Chef that nothing sticks to! I'm not sure what I'd do different, but they need tweeking.

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
I actually made these because I didn't honestly believe they could work. But they were really good. Took reading a lot of reviews to realize they had to be cooked longer. 10 to 12 was better. My son and husband loved them! The only reason I gave them a 4 instead of a 5 is I prefer the other kind.

Jalapeno Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2009
I loved this marinade! I added a few slices of onion to the mix, used a 1 1/2 lb london broil, and let it sit overnight. I cooked it in a cast-iron grill pan on the stove. I used the meat in a soft taco shell with sour cream and cheese - yum! I had another 1/2 left over that I let marinate for another 24 hours - the flavor was much stronger and better! I sliced this piece up over a salad.

This was good, but not like any salisbury steak I've ever had. I always thought the gravy should be a brown mushroom gravy. I think that's what I'll make next time.
