Chocolate Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
Absolutely wonderful. Took Triffens advice and added cayenne pepper to choclate it was about 1 tsp and it enhanced the chocolate. Doubled up on milk and confection powder added about 1 cup of brown sugar. Brought mixture to a slight boil and kept stirring poured onto cake and the plate beneath the cake caught remaining icing. Will make again always. Thank you guys!

I used all the ingredients as called for except long grain rice. I ended up using spanish rice and prepared as package suggested. Still adding the seasoning and this turned out great. Thank you so much for the recipe and will definetly make again.

I used a Bread Machine and set it to the dough cycle..simply wonderful. I ended up adding nearly 1 cup extra flour to get it not sticky. I am eating it right now and can't believe how great it is.

DO NOT USE CUPCAKE PAN I will make again but next time I will make in a baking dish. I used the cupcake pan and even put a baking dish under... It did not work well, my oven was set on fire. If this happens to anyone else close the oven and it will burn out. Just thought I would pass advice. Good recipe fault was thinking I was smart LOL

Very good! (Even with the help of a 2 1/2 year old!) I did add a couple tablespoons extra milk to get the consistency I wanted. This will be going on top of a chocolate cake!

Not sure why everyone is saying this recipe was dry. Not the case here. I used 3 lbs of hamburger, 1 onion, 1 cream of chicken wirh 1 can milk, 1 can stewed tomatoes with juice, smothered with cheese. It turned out wonderful added salt and pepper on top. And poured the soup mixture on top rather than layering. It will be made again and again....Thank you

Never Fail Pie Crust II

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
I made this recipe last week and used the spiral dough beaters on my mixer, which worked great. I made the full recipe, but used half on one pie last week and stored the other half for a pie this week. The first pie I baked the entire pie with the crust (no pre-baking) and it didn't bake well in certain areas and felt dense and doughy even though the pie was done. The second half was used in a pie that held a cream filling, so the crust was baked completely first, before the filling was added. I must say the results on the second pie were outstanding and will be the preferred way I use this recipe. I love the flavor of the recipe and it lends itself well to the sweet fillings I put in it. It is not sweet, nor bland, but tasted like an old-fashioned pie crust. I am KEEPING this recipe! Thanks so much, Sheila in Missouri
