I have 2 cats, 1 loveable mutt, 2 ferrets, and 5 aquariums...you could say it's like Wild Kingdom in my house. I was vegetarian for years, but I eat a little meat now. Mainly fish, chicken, or turkey. The slow cooker and casseroles are my friends.

Cinnabun Cookies

Reviewed on May 29, 2007 by charity
These cookies are so good!! But, it took a couple of trial batches to get them to turn out that way. My first batch the cinnamon and sugar mixture oozed out of the dough while I was trying to roll it up. To fix that the next time I just melted the butter and brushed it on the dough and then sprinkled the cinnamon and sugar on top. I never bothered with the dollop underneath the cookies either. I also make a glaze with powdered sugar and milk and dip the tops of the cookies. Overall, this recipe is great, it just needs a little tweaking.

No Bake Oatmeal Cookies

These weren't very good. It tastes too much like butter and the cocoa powder gives it a somewhat bitter taste. If I ever try making these again I will use half the butter and add some peanut butter, but I think I'll just find a different recipe next time.

Mock Angel Food Cake

Reviewed on Feb. 10, 2007 by charity
This cake turned out very well. I didn't have any cream of tartar so I added 4 tsp of lemon juice instead - it probably could have used 6 tsp though. I didn't bother with sifting my dry ingredients, I just used my hand mixer on a very low speed for a few minutes to combine and get out any clumps. Next time I will definitely only make a half batch!
