Grilled Onion Blossom

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
Great recipe! I soaked for 10-15 min in ice water and it did help them 'bloom.' I made four different flavors and served them on a round platter with a sour cream, horseradish and smoky paprika dipping sauce. The flavors were 1) butter and garlic 2) cajun seasoning and butter 3) montreal steak seasoning and butter and 4) fresh herbs and butter. Delicious and beautiful. My guests raved!

Sandy's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2009
Awesome awesome awesome recipe! This is my first review on allrecipes, and i am on this site evryday-- this cake is that good! I used coffee instead of the water, and did 1/2 cup sour cream and 1/2 cup heavy cream. Other than that left everything as is, and it was phenomenal. Planning on making this for my grandma's 70th birthday cake. Thanks for the wonderful recipe!

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
Tasty and simple. I have made this a variety of ways and everyone says it has a "restaurant flavor". Sometimes I use turkey sausauge, or hamburger meat. I also puree twice the amount of garlic in my food processor, we love the flavor of garlic. I have also used a 26 oz. jar of pasta sauce instead of the canned tomatoes. It always turns out well.

Greek Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
Very nice, light flavor. I used 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts instead of a chicken quartered. I also grated 5 cloves of garlic instead of 3 chopped. Simple and versatile, I serve this with brocolli or over a salad for a light dinner.

Similar to ones my mom used to make when we were growing up. They are easy to fix and quite good.

I didn't cook as long as the recipe called for as I ran out of time. The meat was not as tender as it should have been. I will try again and cook the recommended time.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Noodles

I added 2 bouillon cubes and 2 carrots to the recipe. Also only used half of the chicken and noodle amounts. We thought the soup was quite hearty and tasty. Will make again.

Veggie Squares

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2008
These were fantastic! I did the original recipe first, and we liked it quite a bit. The second time I made it, I turned it into a BLT appetizer by using butter garlic flavored crescent rolls, using the same cream cheese mixture, then sprinkling the top with shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes and crumbled bacon-- it was a HUGE hit! Thanks for the wonderful recipe!

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
First of all this chicken is great hot in a wrap or even cold in a packed lunch. You can serve this so many ways. When I make sandwiches I leave the chicken breasts whole and add ranch dressing on the top. For the wraps I actually shred the chicken after cooking it in the skillet. This is great when it is cooked on the grill or on the stovetop.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
Yummy! These are my personal favorite kind of cookie! I did not change anything about the proportions of the ingredients, except I doubled the sugar/cinnamon mixture and used butter flavored shortening. I actually more than doubled the size of the cookies (servings size of 18) and changed the baking time to 13 minutes and they were perfect! Thank you!

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2008
With a few changes this is a five star recipe. I used cream of chicken soup instead of cream of mushroom, added 1 Tablespoon of chili powder, pinch of cayenne, 1 tsp of garlic powder, 1/2 cup of salsa to the filling and 3/4 cup of salsa to the topping. Rotisserie chicken would be great, shredded up in the filling, or I just cooked 3 breasts in some oil and sprinkled them with garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper. This made 8, filled, 6 inch tortillas. I used the salsa instead of the steps with the green onions and can of green chilis.

Kentucky Butter Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2008
This was a good cake, but the glaze was a too sweet. I think that next time I would just put a chocolate glaze on top because the actual cake had nice texture and taste. I did not make any changes. Note that I never seem to have buttermilk on hand, so I just added 1 Tablespoon of white vinegar to 1 cup of milk.

Easy Cream Cheese Danish

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2008
Wow these are good and pretty easy to make!! As everyone has said, I reduced the cream cheese to one 8oz. brick and the sugar to a 1/2 cup. I have made this a couple of ways, sometimes I add 2 tsp. of cinnamon(to taste) and omit the lemon juice. Wow! Very good! I also will do the plain cream cheese filling or add 1/4 cup of jelly/jam. Also, I do not do the top and bottom layer, but rather I place one crescent on the baking sheet, add the filling generously over it and then place another crescent on top and pinch the edges together. Perfection!

Pizza Pinwheels

These are addicting. Fairly easy once you get the hang of it, definitely take the advice of others and freeze these before cutting up. I diced the pepperoni slices, probably used less than a cup of cheese, but almost 45 slices of pepperoni. Very good, mine took a lot longer to bake, not sure why. I will be making these again, big hit.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies III

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
Very good and very easy...I love that this recipe uses quick oats because I usually have those on hand. This made about 8 sandwich cookies so 16 individuals cookies, but they were very large. The frosting is so good and if you don't have heavy whipping cream, I have used milk before and it tastes just as good!

Sun-Dried Tomato Basil Orzo

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
This is a very good side dish, not a ton of flavor but still tasty. I made a few changes, doubled the amount of sun-dried tomatoes, increased the parmesan cheese to 1 cup, doubled the amount of olive oil...to your taste, and added 1 tsp. of garlic powder and an extra 2 cloves of garlic. Good with a chicken dish!

Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Super easy to make and my friends and family cannot get enough of it. Make sure to put this in the fridge over night to set up. I made a couple of other changes including using a total of 6 eggs, and 1 tsp. of dried minced onion and a pinch of black pepper. I have made it without the mustard powder and it is just as good.

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
Good and pretty easy, does take longer than 90 minutes, more like 2 hours, still, if you do not have a bread machine this is perfect. I followed the directions exactly, except I added a cream cheese frosting. The frosting is 4 oz. of cream cheese, 1/4 cup of softened butter, 2 cups of powdered sugar, 1/2 tsp. of vanilla, pinch of salt, 1-2 tablespoons of milk depending on desired consistency.
