Korean BBQ Short Ribs (Gal-Bi)

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2008
Having spent considerable time in various eateries throughout South Korea, salivating over Gal-Bi, and missing it, I was brought back with this recipe. Thank you. I sent some with my spouse, to serve to an elderly Korean girl friend of hers. It definitely passed the test. She loved it. She offered a suggestion...Pepsi. She told me to add Pepsi! I added about a quarter can to the recipe and it rocks! Either way it's a great, great Korean taste to die for.

Grill Dough

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
Unbelievably delicious! My entire family raved over this, and we will definitely be making this regularly. It was so easy to make; used the Kitchen Aid with the dough hook. My husband did the grilling and my son and I put toppings on, a true family meal! I took others' suggestions and grilled one side, added toppings to it, and returned it to the grill to finish the other side. Brushed on garlic olive oil before putting on toppings. We just did the basics, pepperoni and margherita. Can't wait to experiment with other toppings! Thanks for an awesome recipe, Kristen!

Homemade Butter

So easy to make and the most delicious butter I have ever tasted. Saved me from having to throw out heavy cream left over from ice cream. Thank you!

Lap Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
Very good. My husband and I both liked it. A nice refreshing salad on a hot day, economical too. Used chopped peanuts and doubled the noodles and dressing. My husband needs to drown his salad. Thanks for a great recipe!

Bacon and Tomato Cups

Yummy! These are requested for every shower I throw, and they are always the first thing gone. Only change I made was to use puff pastry cut into squares instead of the biscuits.

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
Super great taste!!! I doubled the marinade because it didn't look like it would be enough - glad I did - was perfect. I put foil, with holes poked in it, on the grill grate before grilling- helped to keep the kabobs from getting burnt.

Onion Rice

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
I tripled this recipe for a crowd. Served it with "Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs" from this site. Everyone, including 3 teenage girls, loved it. Used Vidalia onions - nice taste but rice was rather bland looking -no color. Next time I might add chopped carrots or fresh parsley to make it look more inviting.

Pina Colada Sorbet

My husband says this is the best sorbet he's ever had, even better than the sorbets at our favorite upscale restaurant.

Garlic Lover's Chicken

Reviewed: May 31, 2008
Very good flavor...moist and delicious. Husband and two picky kids liked. The only thing I would have done differently is pounded the chicken breasts thinner (or had the butcher tenderize them at the shop). I like a crunchy chicken breading, and the coating was soggy. Sucessful taste, now just need to perfect the texture.

Ignacio's Super Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

Reviewed: May 18, 2008
Ok, this is crazy good. I had no idea, but adding in the crunch makes the sandwich taste like a PB&J candy bar. Kids think I invented something magical here.....I'm their hero! Thank you!

Garlic Bread Fantastique

Reviewed: May 18, 2008
Guess I am in the minority here, but wasn't a big fan of this. Maybe added a little too much parmesean cheese, but 5 minutes under the broiler was too long, started burning at 3 1/2. Scraped off the burnt parts, and it tasted OK. Probably won't make it again, but thanks anyway!

Spicy Bean Salsa

Reviewed: May 17, 2008
This salsa is great. I added 1 extra can of diced tomatoes. Be sure to use the unseasoned blackeyed peas and black beans to avoid conflicting flavors. I made my own Italian dressing using the Good Season packet but giving it a southwest twist by substituting lime juice for the water and added 2 teaspoons of cumin. I doubled the recipe so that after company leaves, we will be able to enjoy some for ourselves for a few days...just gets better as it sits in fridge.

Unbelievable Grilled Garlic Bread

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
I used half of the mixture on the bread and it was enough. My husband and I enjoyed it, but the kids didn't seem to care for it.
