Herbed Whole Wheat Bread

I consider myself a serious bread baker and have to say I really did not like the recipe. I would have left out the cornmeal as it made the bread very dense. It rose fine the first time (maybe a little slow) but the second rise was almost nonexistent. My yeast proofed so that wasn't the problem. I swapped some of the herbs out for others but other than that followed the recipe exactly.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

This recipe makes some delicious bean burgers. I added an extra quarter cup bread crumbs to make the burgers hold together as well as some fresh cilantro to add a little extra zip. Delicious!

Grilled Broccoli

This is SOOO yummy!!! I had it at a friends house when she made it for dinner. I wasn't sure by the looks of it if I would like it or not...guess what? Not only did I LOVE it, but the kids loved it too!!! I now have a way to get them to eat broccoli!

Best Bread Machine Bread

I love this bread. I have been trying to find a good recipe that tastes like the bread my husband's grandma makes - and I finally found it! Thank you for the great recipe. I am looking forward to trying different spices and additional ingredients with it! (I even goofed up the order of ingredients and it still turned out.) We call it "cabin bread" because we can make it in the bread maker at our cabin. Perfect!

Greek Orzo Salad

I didn't think this recipe really had all that much flavor. The serving size was really huge too--way too much for two people for sure. I won't make this again.

Flounder Mediterranean

This is a wonderful recipe! The combination of tomatoes and olives gives this recipe a very rich and distinct flavor. I will definitely be fixing this again!

Green Bean and Potato Salad

I wasn't sure about this one, but the result was absolutely phenomenal! On the advice of a friend who made a similar recipe, I modified the sauce a bit. I used extra virgin olive oil, minced garlic from a jar, fresh lemon juice, fresh basil, and just a splash of balsamic vinegar (I added this to taste). The garlic and basil really make this, I think. This is the only way we eat potatoes now!

Spicy Baked Sweet Potato Fries

I made these with olive oil, Emeril's Original Essence, and ground sea salt (and baked them a bit lower, at 375/400 degrees) and they were phenomenal -- even my kids and people who didn't like sweet potatoes loved these. Great balance of sweet and spicy, and lots of beta-carotene. Yum!

Spaghetti Salad III

This salad is a great way to use up leftover cold spaghetti. I use Tuscan House Italian salad dressing by Kraft and Salad Supreme Salad Seasoning, we always make extra spaghetti so we can have this salad the next day. Wonderful cool summer supper with crusty italian bread.

Frosted Grapes

Red grapes are pretty good plain but I really liked these for a snack on a hot summer day! It does make you feel like you are eating cherries though. Wonder if grape jello would work too?? Or any flavor for that matter. I will be trying other flavors.

Red-Hot Molded Hearts Salad

We make this as a side dish, I am not a fussy cook so I don't do the jello mold thing! The kids love that it has red hots in it.
