Unbelievable Grilled Garlic Bread

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
I used half of the mixture on the bread and it was enough. My husband and I enjoyed it, but the kids didn't seem to care for it.

I just didn't care for the flavor of the seasonings.

Becca's Taco Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2008
The only change I made was adding the entire package of taco seasoning instead of half. We really liked it! I served it with tortilla chips, shredded cheese and sour cream. Very easy to make.

Marinated Rib-eyes

This recipe was just OK. The meat was tender, but I felt it lacked in flavor.

A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2008
My family really enjoyed this. I followed other reviewers' advice and sauteed onions and garlic in olive oil and butter. Then I pounded the chicken a little flatter, rubbed in the seasonings, and browned it in the olive oil mixture. After browning I simmered it in chicken broth until done, then made gravy. The gravy really does make this dish. It's not one of my personal favorites, but I'd definitely consider making it again.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2008
The only thing I did different was to increase the cinnamon to 1/4 tsp. The topping on this muffin is wonderful, but I didn't think the actual muffin was as good as another recipe I use from this site called Jo Jo's Favorite Banana Muffins. I think I'll try making those muffins with this topping and it'll be the ultimate banana muffin.

Homemade Peanut Butter Cups

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
These were a lot of fun to make and they turned out great. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is that I thought the peanut butter filling was too sweet. Maybe I'll cut back on the confectioner's sugar if I make them again. I took another reviewers' advice and used creamy instead of chunky peanut butter and I liked the consistency. Also, instead of keeping the paper cups in a stack to coat with chocolate, I used a mini muffin tin for support. It worked great.

Chow Mein Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2008
This is a good recipe. I halved the recipe, but left 1 lb of hamburger and the whole can of soup, and about 1 cup of rice, and then cooked in an 8x8 pan. I used celery seed instead of actual celery. Next time I make this, I will use water chesnuts instead of the almonds.

Favorite Corn Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2008
I used white cornmeal because that's all I had. I don't usually like corn bread and I made it just to please my husband, but I thought it was very good. My husband recommended adding honey next time, as did previous reviewers so I will try that in the future.

Chocolate Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2008
I took other reviewers' advice and baked the cake for 90 minutes. With my oven this was too long and the cake was a little dry. Next time I will try the suggested time and hopefully it will turn out better. Despite being dry, the cake tasted fine and looked beautiful when dusted with powdered sugar.

Cheesecake Supreme

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2008
I followed the recipe, but followed other reviewers' advice on baking time. I baked for 10 minutes on 400 and 3 hours on 200. I didn't have time to allow the cake to cool completely in a turned-off oven with the door cracked because I needed to bake something else so I was afraid the cake would crack. It didn't. It turned out perfect and once it was thoroughly chilled it was the best homemade cheesecake I've ever eaten.

Asparagus Casserole I

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
I took this casserole to a superbowl game and it was a touchdown for sure! Some changes I made: I used about 4 cups of chopped ham, 2-10oz of frozen cut asparagus, a whole small green pepper, I probably used at least a cup of shredded cheese, 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup and about 3/4-1 cup of evaporated milk and I added fresh mushrooms. Everyone loved this recipe. When I make it for just my husband and I next time, I will use the original recipe in an 8 x 8 baking dish instead of a 9 x 13.

Traditional Reuben Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
This was pretty good. I used another recipe from this site to cook my corned beef prior. It is the Corned Beef and Cabbage II recipe--which I highly recommend. I used only light Rye bread, that's all I could find. I think I needed a stronger flavor of Rye than what I used. I used fat free thousand island & I don't recommend that. I think it needs more flavor from the dressing than the fat free offers. I did, however, use the light sour cream and would do that again. This dish tasted much better as leftovers. I will make this again with using darker rye and thousand island with some fat!
