I made this for easter. It was so good, and even better the next day. This is a keeper, in fact, we will make this for christmas instead of prime rib this year.

Amish Slaw

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
Very good. I used a bagged slaw mix that contained red and green cabbage and carrots and added green onions. I did not use celery seed as we don't like it. I cut back a bit on the sugar and oil and used apple cider vinegar. I added the sugar to the warm vinegar-oil mixture to dissolve. I served it with smoked pork, and everyone enjoyed it.

Vegetable Beef Soup I

My family really enjoyed this soup. And with a family of 5, there were no leftovers! I used leftover meat and potatoes from a very large pot roast. It worked out well.

Made these for my husband and I for breakfast on last weekend. I haven't had them since I was a kid and saw this recipe/ Added a little cinnamon and vanilla. Served with sauteed apples. Nice, fluffy, light breakfast, great with a cup of coffee.

Hamburger Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2009
I made these for the kids as an April Fool's joke. They thought it was pretty funny. My store didn't have any of the chocolate mint cookies, so I had to use Hershey's Almond Joy cookies. They were bigger than the 'Nilla Wafers, so it looked like the burger was bigger than the bun. No one noticed. I used yellow frosting on the bottom wafer, put the chocolate cookie on, topped that with red frosting and the green coconut. One child thought the yellow was mustard, another said it was cheese. So it worked either way!

This was great. I made it as is, even adding in the kidney beans(which I don't like). At a whole bowl of it myself. Awesome! My husband just loved it.

This was absolutely delicious and easy! I used the Rondele brand. I never really cared for it much as a spread but it's GREAT as a filler for chicken.

These were awesome. My husband came home after I made these and was looking for the bag they came. He said they looked just like english muffins - LOL. Missing a few nooks and crannies - I may have overworked a little on the second rise. But overall they were great.

Asian Rainbow Trout

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
Quite tasty. I used toasted sesame oil in place of olive oil and brown sugar instead of white as many reviewers have done. I sauteed the trout until it had a nice caramelized crust, and it was perfectly cooked inside. We enjoyed very much.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2009
Good muffins. I did not use the crumb topping, and I'm glad I didn't--they are quite sweet on their own. I doubled the recipe for a brunch and used some very tasty fresh blueberries--along with a few tweaks for flavor--and they were a hit.

Triple Threat Fruit Smoothie

I made this with my girl scout troop as part of a cooking badge. The girl who was supposed to bring the blueberries didn't show up! So we had to do without. I used two bananas to help sweeten it up a bit. The girls loved it and most came back for thirds!

Sesame Seared Tuna

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
Excellent marinade and a perfect compliment to the tuna. I also added grated garlic and ginger and let the tuna marinate for about 3 hours. I cooked the tuna for a couple of minutes on each side then sprinkled with toasted black and white sesame seeds and did a quick flip on each side to further toast them and adhere them to the fish. Delicious and a definite keeper recipe for us. We'll also try on other firm fish.

Kalacs (Hungarian Cinnamon Swirl Bread)

I'm the submitter of the recipe. I'm so glad many of you have enjoyed our family recipe. I've put practically everything under the sun in this bread! A favorite of my family is chopped bittersweet chocolate and dried tart cherries. It's divine. It's also good to add cocoa to the dough to make chocolate bread.
