Great recipe! I did make one change. I put the BBQ sauce (Famouse Dave's Sweet and Zesty) on the side for my picky husband and he love it. Yum!

Anna's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
I just finished making these cookies and this recipe has become one of my new favorites for chocolate chip cookies. I followed the recipe as written and they turned out perfectly. I formed the dough into teaspoon size and the cookies are puffy and moist in the middle. My husband and kids LOVE them, I will definetly be using this recipe again, since I don't think that they'll last very long around here! Thanks for the great recipe!!!

This will be the third time I've returned to this recipe after trying several others. They are just THE BEST! You can do all sorts of things to switch it up - adding nuts, dried fruit, peanutbutter or toffee chips... MMMMMM!

Tarragon Beef Stew with Vermouth

Reviewed: May 18, 2008
Smells FANTASTIC cooking and tasted amazing! I didn't read the reviews before started this cooking - but I allowed it to cook the entire time with the lid off - and I added 3/4 cup brown rice for the last half hour and it was perfect consistency! Another note, I didn't have any honey because I'd used it all for a loaf a bread I was cooking at the same time (doh!) so I just used 2 tsp of sugar. It was a bit sweet - and next time I do this, I'll use only 1 tsp. I'll also half the water and use only 6c of broth.

Wheat Bread with Flax Seed

Reviewed: May 18, 2008
I also revised this recipe... -1/2 cup wheat flour -1/2 cup ground flax seed -2c bread flour -1/14 cups water -No gluten -1 1/4 cups water. I prepared the dough in the bread machine and pulled out after 1 1/2 hr dough process. I kneaded and twisted - then placed in a 9x5 bread tin. This bread was SO wonderful! The crust was dark and crispy - the bread was perfect for making sandwiches and tolerated thin slices. I feel good knowing that my family is getting the benefit of the flax and whole wheat! Yum!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2008
I made this for my husband and kids who don't really care for lasagna AND THEY LOVED IT! It really is the world's best lasagna. I was a cup short of mozzerella cheese so I substituted sharp chedder that I had on hand. Thank you so much! This is something I will make many times in the future.

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2006
My husband made this pizza sauce tonight and I must say I was very disappointed. It was too sweet and also had too many spices, a taste overload. My daughter and I could only eat 1 slice max, but my son and husband seem to enjoy it. I'll give it 2 stars, max. I'm now in search of a new sauce recipe. Any suggestions?

Broccoli Beef I

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2006
Tastey recipe, just needs a little tweeking. Here's what I changed/added: I used 2 tbsp Brown sugar, 4 tablespoons soy sauce, 1/2 tsp ground ginger, 1/2 chopped large onion, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1 (14 oz can beef broth), and also ended up using 1/4 cup flour to thicken the sauce. I cooked the meat with the broth mixture, instead of seperatley, the meat turned out perfectly. I will make this again, kids and husband loved it, no complaints, just needs something.

Cheesy Turkey with Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2006
We had left over smoked turkey and I was trying to figure out a way to use it. This was the 1st recipe that I saw and it turned out tasty! I did change a couple things. Of course, we started out with a smoked turkey, then instead of turkey stock and water, I used a can of low sodium chicken broth. Also, I used macaroni noodles, instead of rigatoni. I used the entire package of onion soup mix, didn't add any salt to the recipe (I figured that it would have enough from the chick broth and soup mix). For cheese, I used about a cup of cheddar and a cup of mozerella. Turned out very well!

Lighter Banana Muffins

Very tasty recipe! I read the earlier reviews before making and added the apple sauce, vanilla, cinnamon and topped with brown sugar as recommended. They did stick to the paper muffin cups, but other then that, very tasty! My husband, 2 year old daughter and 10 month old son LOVE them! Will make again!

Special Roast Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2005
I just made this for Thanksgiving and it turned out wonderfully!!!! I'll definetly be using this recipe again and again! The one thing that I changed was before I put the turkey in the oven, I sliced 6 cuts into the sides of the turkey and placed 1 tbsp of butter into each opening. It helped make the turkey even more moist and tasty. Great recipe!

Very tasty recipe. But I have to say, I love my grandmother's the best of all. I will make this again for a change of things though. I did add some things as previously mentioned. I used cake flour instead of all purpose flour, added 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp all spice, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp nutmet and 1 tsp of ground cloves.

A tasty recipe for when you want something different to eat. I just made this for dinner because I didn't know what I wanted and it turned out great. I didn't use the ricotta cheese (didn't have any. Next time I will add a bell pepper for some extra flavor, but even without, it tastes yummy!

Red-Skinned Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2004
Great recipe! I just made this for Thanksgiving and will make it again and again. Instead of water to boil the potatoes, I used 2 1/2 cups chicken broth and skipped the bouillon. Also, when I was roasting the garlic, I followed the recipe and roasted them for 45 minutes, they turned out burnt black and crispy. So, I ended up using granulated garlic as a last resort. Next time, I will probably roast the garlic for 20 minutes, not 45.

Maple Roast Turkey and Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2004
I just made this for Thanksgiving and everything tasted good except the gravy, which was very oily and runny. The vegetables that are cooked with the turkey soaked up the sweetness of the maple syrup / apple cider and were very tasty and moist. If I were to make this again, I probably will use a different gravy recipe.
