Herald's Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
made this the other night. very easy to put together but felt it needed something more. I added a can of rotel instead of the fresh tomato also added the french fried onions, tasted too much of the oregano so I might either cut that down a bit or leave it out all together. This one needs a little work but still not a bad easy fix meal for the times when you are in a hurry.

German Red Cabbage

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
Awesome! I made this for christmas dinner as I had to make my vegetable on the stove as my oven was already stuffed. I did not use the cheese cloth I just put everything in the pan and fished it out at the end. I had to use a little more cornstarch to get mine the thickness I wanted it. My mother in law said it tasted just as good as her very German mother in law used to make so I guess that means its just not me who thinks its good.

French Toast Souffle

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
I made this last weekend to test it out for Christmas, and we loved it!! However the Souffle collapsed after taking it out of the oven (had to bake it for one hour) so we are goig to make a few changes to it, and try it again. Changes: * Cut Milk to 1 cup * Use 1 Cup of Half & Half * Add an additional pkg. of Cream Cheese (16 oz. total) * Use Cinnimon Swirl Loaf of Bread * Add some Brown Sugar on top (1/2 Cup probably) * 1 pkg. thawed frozen Strawberrys or Blueberrys as a garnish (not baked in the Souffle). Butter Snow Flakes

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
These were very good but I do prefer the taste of the more buttery traditonal spritz. the flavor of the oranje zest came out alot and did give it a good taste. I did add 8 ounces of cream cheese like the other reviewes did and that seemed to work great.

Shrimp Linguine Alfredo

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2007
A very rich sauce, the secret to thickening the sauce is toss a handfull of Ramano cheese and seasoned breadcrumbs. If you like a little heat to the bland sauce I added a few red pepper flakes and cajun seasoning when cooking the shrimp. Do not over cook shrimp. A keeper recipe.

very good. I am the only one in the house that will eat alfredo but decided to try this one. I added shrimp and that was the only addition or alteration that was made and it was wonderful, will be making this one often

It was Ok, I have had other recipes to rave about but not this one. I doubled the recipe and added almond extract and 1/2 t. nutmeg as suggested. 3/4 c. brown suger and 3/4 c. white sugar and 2 1/4 c. chopped apples. Baked in 9 x 13 pan and sprinkled powered suger over the top while cooling. Did not us the topping the reciped suggested.

Spinach Quiche

very good. I changed a few things by using Swiss instead of Cheddar, added some fresh dill and a pinch of nutmeg didn't add mushrooms and used half and half instead of milk. This is a very forgiving dish and really hard to screw it up.... give it a try and use your imagination and you will end up with something delish...

Easy Meat Loaf

Nothing that really stands out in this one for me. The flavor was good but mine didn't stay together all that well. Maybe if and only if I make this again I will make it in a loaf pan. This was a very simple recipe to put together just wish it would have stayed together better.

Snapper Veracruz

There are too many flavors in competition here. I would omit nearly half the ingredients and make a simpler dish ... sweet red & green peppers, onions, tomatoes, capers, garlic, Italian parsley; I think that will enhance the flavor of the fish and not bury it.

Cheddar Bacon Hamburgers

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2007
Had these the other night. Great flavor. A little salty though. I did add more cheese and bacon as some others stated it was not cheesy enough. I think the saltyness was from the added bacon. Will be making this recipe on a regular basis only minus the extra bacon.
