I came up with my own version of Italian Nachos after trying some at a festival. They are a nice change of pace from your typical nachos. These disappear fast whenever I take them to parties!

I learned this dish while in France - I use rice that comes prepackaged with the spices, but you can use plain rice and saffron to do the trick. I also sometimes throw shrimp in at the last minute.

My Bavarian Oma made these large dumplings to accompany roast pork or game dishes, any meat with gravy, or with mushrooms in a creamy sauce. Serve one dumpling alongside your meat, and cover with a little gravy.

This is a wonderful, spicy dill pickle with a nice hint of sweetness. Plan to at least double the amount of crushed red pepper if you like it REALLY spicy...YUM!

Homemade Yogurt

Submitted by: Lene Marie Dotzler

This is a really inexpensive way to make lots of yogurt, and it's kind of cool to boot! It also offers and endless amount of possibilities of flavors for those watching sugars. After the first batch, you can use a tbsp of your own homemade yogurt instead of store-bought.

A spicy Japanese twist on the traditional cheese ball party appetizer. My friends loved it. Be sure to start moderately with Wasabi and season to taste. Serve with veggies or sesame water crackers.
