Beer Cheese Soup II

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2008
This is a very good recipe. Use additional cornstarch if it isn't thick enough.

Grilled Tilapia with Mango Salsa

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
Wonderful! The mango adds some wonderful sweetness to this. You MUST use fresh cilantro (never dried).

Classic Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
mmmmmm....nice meaty sauce! My only changes were using fresh chopped basil, ground turkey and chicken sausages. Everyone raved about this lasagna!

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
I thought this recipe was just ok although my family gobbled it up on Thanksgiving. No one said it was outstanding nor did anyone say they didn't like it. I think the idea is good, with the sauce, but I will most likely stick with the traditional apple pie.

Make Ahead French Toast

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
This dish is so easy and delicious. I made it for my family the morning after the big "Day After Thanksgiving" shopping trip. The make ahead portion is quick and so is the morning preparation. I was pleasantly surprised that the maple syrup isn't over powering. Basically it makes a carmel sauce, no maple taste at all. I shared this recipe will all that had it as they want to make it for their families too.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2007
fantastic... love a little red pepper and works well w/ Moz cheese instead of Parmesan.

Cholesterol King Heart Stopper 2000

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2007
Well, this is definitely a heart stopper! The amount of cheese and meat is astronomical and delicious! I used Muenster and cheddar cheeses. I was surprised that there is no mayo or mustard but it was not needed with the butter and cheese. I made this for a group of hungry football fans and it was perfect with just chips and dip. Quick and easy.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2007
I really liked this bread. It was dry though, maybe I over-cooked it a bit. Very nice flavor and the chocolate chips were excellent with the pumpkin. I will make definitely make this again and re-rate if the dryness was due to user error. Thanks!

Apple Loaf

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2007
Very good! I used 4 apples which made about 2 cups of shredded apples and I added cinnamon because it goes so well with apples. The bread is very moist and has an excellent flavor. I would make this over banana bread. Yum!

Peanut Butter Glaze

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2007
YUM! I made this for the frosted banana bars from this site instead of the frosting from that recipe. Very good. It's just the right amount of peanut butter. I would have this over frosting any day.

Yakisoba Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2007
My husband loved this recipe. I thought it was very good but I wasn't gaga over it like he is. I enjoy making Asian food-be sure to prepare all your ingredients and chop the vegetables before starting, it goes fast. I cheated on this and used pre-shredded cabbage and carrots from the store. I also used roasted red chili paste and it was just the right amount of spiciness. The soba noodles were good too. I will use them in other dishes as well.

Hummus III

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2007
This is a good starter recipe but I would need to make additions if I make it again. Something is missing...I added about 4 cloves of garlic and cumin and paprika and that still didn't do the trick. I will try again with other ingredients so I can use up the tahini.

Guacamole

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2007
This is a fantastic recipe! The only change I made was that I added more tomato and more cilantro than called for. This is very easy, I actually chopped the tomatoes and onion (very fine chop) ahead of time and then peeled and mashed the avocado when I was ready to serve. I got it done and served during halftime of the Packer game. Excellent!
