Just outstanding! I have been searching for a great homemade italian sausage, and this is most definately THE best one I have found after trying dozens. Go for it, it will not disappoint.

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
I always have made my pot roasts with dry onion soup mix, but usually I would cook it in in a Dutch Oven, covered. By cooking it in the slow cooker, the meat was so incredibly tender it literally melted in my mouth. Delicious!! And from now on I will be making my chuck roasts in the crock pot! Yum!

Apple Cake I

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
This would be a five-star recipe if only it called for HALF of the sugar. I made this for a neighbourhood get-together and am so happy I halved the sugar. It was gorgeous with that amount, and totally sweet enough. A neighbour made the same exact recipe but followed it to a 'T'... I'm so happy she did b/c we were then able to compare the two cakes back to back. The one with the full amount of sugar was cloyingly sweet - way too sweet - and was denser and almost gluey. Mine was much lighter in texture, but still perfectly moist. I must admit that when making the cake I was a bit nervous as I'd never seen such a thick cake batter before. Don't fret - it is very thick but still works a treat. I will make this cake again and may even cut down the sugar some more, and will reduce the oil by 1/4.

Kielbasa and Cabbage

I made this last night and find the caraway seeds are a must. We did find it a little too sweet, I suggest cut the sugar in half. Even though, we enjoyed it very much, it's worth making again.

Chocolate Zucchini Cake III

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
Don't make this cake before reading this review!!!! The cake was wonderful, but please don't add 1 1/2 cups of oil! We all agreed that 1 cup was just right - too much more would have resulted in a dense, greasy cake. No need to use applesauce for some of the oil, either. This cake was perfectly moist with just 1 cup of oil. We also left out the nuts, which was just fine. I used olive oil, as I do with most of my baking, and it was great. We all agreed the cake tasted better room temp the next day rather than warm out of the oven. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

These were great! I had to wrap two slices of bacon around them to keep the pepper and cream cheese in. I thought this was really easy to make overall, will make again. My husband liked them so much he ate two!

Country Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
It was okay. I made the mistake of beatng the eggs and mixing ingredients the night before so I could just throw it in the pie crust and bake hte next morning, but I had to add 2 more eggs and beat all together to get the eggs to perk up again. It came out quite dry, we thought. Less cook time? Will try this one again. It was simple enough!

Crisp Pickled Green Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
These are good but I found them a bit too salty. I used iodized sea salt rather than pickling salt so I'm guessing that's why. I also added ground cayenne as others suggested but they were not at all hot. I'll try fresh jalapenos next time. Will make again with 1/2 the salt called for.

Zucchini Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
Delicious way to use up the abundance of zucchini that comes along every summer! Anyone who doesn't like this recipe probably didn't make it right. I've made it every week since the zucchini was ready and it never lasts more than a day at my house. I usually add about 2 cups more zucchini to make the filling thicker (and to use more zucchini) and add a little more spice than called for.

Easy Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2009
Great simple recipe. Only took about 5 minutes to prep. Next time I make it I will spread the fruit out more, piling it in the middle means the edge pieces don't get a lot of fruit and the center pieces are nothing but fruit. Also, I think brown sugar would make it just a little more delicious!

Blueberry Buckle

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
I honestly had never heard of a Blueberry Buckle before, but I am glad I know now! It is a delicious cross between a muffin and coffee cake, full of fresh blueberries and a great crumbly top. Follwed this recipe to a "T." My only complaint is that the cake itself was not too packed with flavor, maybe I will add some vanilla or almond next time. And trust me, there will be an next time, soooo good!
