Green Tomato Cake

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
I had such an over abundance of green tomatoes at the end of last year, I was trying to find something I could make out of them. This was an excellent choice! It was a perfect coffee cake and honestly, when l I told people what was in it, they hardly believed me!!!

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
Have to admit, I'm usually cursed when it comes to dough recipes (can't make a biscuit to save my life), so I was a little nervous. But these turned out Amazing! The baking soda bath is key. I baked them at a lower temperature (around 420F) and liberally brushed on some melted butter halfway through. Fantastic served with a warm cream cheese dip. Will make again very soon!

Quick Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
This was a very good recipe to build on. I agree with the post that said they left out the butter. I thought it was a little greasy and next time I make this I would definitely leave that out. But I used ham instead of bacon and added mushrooms. Thanks for the recipe! I'll definitely make this again!

Peppermint Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
This was a very easy recipe. I made a few changes. I used 2 cups of semi-sweet chips and 1 of white chips. Then instead of melting stovetop, I used the microwave. Put in microwave safe dish and heat for 1 1/2 minutes, stir and then heat an additional minute and stir again. You may need an additional 1/2 minute depending on your microwave. I then mixed in 1 tsp peppermint and poured into 8x8 pan. I put peppermint candy on top and put in the fridge to set. Turned out super! Thanks for the recipe!!

Charleston Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
What a fabulous, easy recipe. I did a half batch (8x8) and prepared the night before. As mentioned, a small batch still takes the full 40 minutes. I used an extra egg and the seasoned Texas Toast croutons, which worked great. My batch was a little bland, so I'll tweak the seasonings a little next time. But overall, it was awesome.

Zucchini and Tomato Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
I really liked the base ingredients, but I'm not fond of steamed zucchini. Instead of steaming, I sauteed them with yellow pepper and onions in the margarine and dill and once they were tender, I put the mix in a pie plate (I only did a half recipe) and then put the tomatoes on and the cheese, which I used mozerella instead too. It turned out fabulous so I wanted to share!!

Great! I used this batter on mini hot dogs and they turned out really well. I'll definitely use this again, but will probably try adding a spoonful of honey (I like my breading a little sweeter). Awesome snack!

Quiche Lorraine I

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2008
This recipe was really easy to follow, and I was extremely pleased with the way it came out. After reading some helpful tips, I made a few alterations. I flash baked the deep dish pie crust for 10 minutes at 350, added an egg, and used a little less than a cup and a half of whole milk. I caramelized the onions in a little bacon grease, which tasted delicious but got a little greasier than I like. Next time, I think I'll put them on a paper towel before I put them in the filling. Baked at 325 for close to 50 minutes, until it was nice and brown. It set up really well, and warmed up even better the next day. I will Definitely make this again.

Marshmallow Chocolate Chip Pie

My mother use to make a pie like this, it was called Icebox pie,I always loved it and so does my family. for years I lost the recipe and made my own version of it. before I used 40 marshmallows and and a tsp of vanilla and a beaten egg added to the mixture. I also used a premade graham crust. I made this one as it is and its delisious too. A rich and delicious pie. I think it fools you because it doesnt really taste like marshmalllows..it taste GREAT!!!!!!
