Cheesy Quinoa Pilaf with Spinach

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
This was ok. We couldn't taste the garlic, spinach, or cheese....just the quinoa. I'll try it again but with more garlic and cheese. It has potential.

This was easy and good, it just needs more seasoning. I will make it again but will definitely marinate overnight and add more seasonings.

Garlic Bubble Ring

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
I loooooooooove this stuff. I don't think I'll ever buy frozen garlic bread again. Super Easy!! I used Rhodes brand frozen bread, let it thaw about 6-7 hours in the fridge. I don't have a bundt pan, so I used a 9" round cake pan. The directions didn't say what size to make the balls so I made them about the size of a walnut. The only thing I'll do different next time is to use less margarine (1/2 C at most) and to put a thin layer of it in the bottom of the pan.

Chicken and Red Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
Following some of the previous reviews, I halved the brown sugar, paprika, and red wine, and I am glad that I did. This was a flavorful and easy to prepare dish. The sweet and salty are very well-balanced, and the wine adds a depth of flavor with very little effort.

Make Ahead French Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
We had this for breakfast this morning and it was very good. I didn't make the sauce of the butter/syrup, etc. because hubby is picky about how his french toast tastes. We will definitely make this again.

PHILADELPHIA Creamy Pasta Primavera

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
This was tasty. I changed up the vegetables a bit to use what I had in the fridge; green pepper, mushrooms, zucchini, green onions, tomatoes, and spinach. I also cooked the chicken and veggies in some oil instead of salad dressing as I had a dry italian pack and just added it in as I cooked them. The only other thing I did different was to add a dash or two of Worcestershire. Overall a very yummy, simple dish.

Maria's Paella

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
This was delish! I did do a couple things different. I didn't have thighs so I used chicken breasts, I used turmeric since I didn't have saffron and I used zucchini instead of peas because we didn't have any of those either. Even with all the substitutions it as really yummy! We will definitely make it again - thanks for the yummy recipe. :)

Blackened Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
This is a great recipe. It's easy and quick to prepare, and has a wonderful flavor. I agree that the oven element is not at all necessary; I used a cast iron skillet for about five minutes on each side and the chicken was practically falling apart when I was done. Also, I made a portion of the chicken completely kid-friendly by removing the paprika and cayenne and replacing it with a bit of chili powder. Some garlic powder in the mix is a good thing as well. This is a recipe that we'll be going back to often.

I have made this recipe numerous times and my nephew asks for it each Christmas as a gift. I make it for employees at work and they think it is the best. I do follow one reviewers suggestion by cutting the Velveeta and add Cheddar Cheese. It is fabulous.

Cheese Biscuits I

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
I thought these were very tasty. As others had suggested I mixed my garlic powder into the dry mix. I used a multi-grain baking mix that I get at Trader Joes. I used half water and half soymilk. I used mostly Monterey Jack cheese with a little bit of freshly grated Asiago as my cheeses of choice. I used a 2-1/4 inch ice cream scoop that I had sprayed lightly with vegetable spray to scoop out my biscuits so they would be relatively the same size and yielded 8 generous biscuits. I baked my biscuits for about 15 minutes at 425. And baked the biscuits on parchment paper and had no trouble with sticking. My biscuits were very tender and moist. What a great and easy recipe. A perfect accompaniment with tomato soup.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
I tried this one when I was looking for a new way to do chicken in the crockpot. I did add some onion and a small splash of chicken broth to the crockpot before I left, since I was going to be gone longer than the six hours. Served it over elbow macaroni and broccoli; my husband said he'd give it "a six out of five!"

Fabulous.Different.Easy. I made this with wild rice and broccoli spears and it made a colorful and tasty Christmas meal for guests. Everyone loved it. I would take the tinfoil off for the last 15-20 min. just to brown it up a bit. I also like using the jellied cranberries and western dressing.

Amazing Italian Lemon Butter Chicken

Yummy! This was delicious! I used a lot less butter though; 1/2 stick instead of 2 sticks. I also put a little garlic powder in at the end and put in about a third cup of chicken stock I needed to use up. Definitely a keeper. Thanks for the yummy recipe!
