Indian Tomato Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
I submitted this recipe. I am not Indian born (Italian!!) but I have been married to my Indian husband for 23 years. I learned from the master's hand--his mother!! Northern Indians use Bay leaves...south Indians use curry leaves, which, by the way are wonderful!

I, too, wish I had read the reviews. This is a dry, tasteless cookie. They need more sugar. They have a nice texture, but no taste.

Spinach and Hazelnut Salad with Strawberry Balsamic Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
I made this recipe for dinner guests who are major foodies. They couldn't stop eating it and commenting on how good it is!! I used some hazelnuts that I purchased at a farmer's market in Portland, Oregon. I used raspberry preserve and it was great. The shredded wheat cereal was very unique and my guests liked the novelty. I substituted craisins because I did not have golden raisins. I love it!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
this was my first time making this recipe and I took it to a potluck. I used a mixture of Italian blend cheeses and sharp cheddar and it came out really well. The only change that I would make would be to add a little more salt and pepper. potatoes are like salt sponges, they soak up all of the salt and made it taste a tiny bit bland. I added xtra salt and pepper on my serving, and it was perfect. Everyone enjoyed it! Also, for any meat-eaters, adding ham would be great as well.

Excellent. Very rich and delicious. I used garlic and herb flavored wild rice mix and it was amazing. Add some frozen soup vegetables to make it more filling.

I tried this recipe,3 times. They all came out beautiful and perfect. The only problem I have with this recipe is I never have leftovers. I guess that's a good thing. Thanks for a great recipe

I had to try this recipe. It was fantastic, taste just like the mall sales. I served them HOT out of the oven, everyone went nuts. I followed the recipe exactly as written. This is my only recipe for these rolls. Thanks a million

Creamy Cajun Shrimp Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
This recipe was fast, easy, and delicious! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I made some additions... 1. I added some of the seasonings to the shrimp while it was sauteing. 2. I added 1 cup of shredded parmesan and 1/2 cup of colby-jack to the final sauce. Overall, great recipe!!!

I meat was perfect! I didn't use the sauce recipe. Plus I followed a suggestion by another person. After 8 hrs. I took the meat out of the crockpot and put it back in the over @ 425 for 30 min. I thickened the sauce with some corn starch. It was great!

Roast Leg of Lamb with Rosemary

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
I was always afraid of making lamb with it being so expensive and all. I hate to waste anything because if it's not good, these people I live with will not eat it no matter how much it cost! But this was easy and tasted great. I used the left overs to make Irish Lamb Stew which is on this site and it was great as well. Lamb will be a regular on our menu from now on.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
I made this according to the reviews and eliminated the butter. I used a bag of frozen spinach, defrosted and squeezed it do death lol. Then I sauted the onions, garlic and mushrooms in olive oil, added the spinach after a bit. This did make two pies, which I usually make my own but for this time I did buy them already made:( I would definitely bake the pie crusts for about 8 minutes before putting anything in it. My dad ate half of one pie lol!

Irish Lamb Stew

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
This is a great recipe! I used left over from Easter lamb. It was already seasoned, but I still cooked it in the bacon grease for more good flavor. Then I put it in a crock pot, with mushrooms and carrots and beef stock. As the day went on I added some wine and then the flour. I never even added any other seasoning because the flavor was already unbelievable. I probably could of thickened up a bit more, but we ate it over left over mashed potatoes...I'm telling you this was to die for! Great basic recipe to work with. I will be cooking a lot more lamb from now on. Oh, my daughter says that it was a gift from the gods lol!

Pork Chops Stuffed with Smoked Gouda and Bacon

These were excellent. Gouda is the perfect cheese because it doesn't ooze when it melts like cheddar does. Stays inside and adds the perfect flavor to pork. Really impressed everyone with this one!
