White Chocolate Fruit Tart

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
This was a fantastic dessert! I'm only a beginner and it was fairly easy to make. There was a little of everything left over in the end which could be used to make tartlets. I used all the fruit that was used in the original recipe plus some blueberries. I noticed the crust was quiet hard though- which may be because I should have taken it out of the refrigerator sooner. I have a picture of the finished dish on my profile! Thank you for sharing this dessert- I'm sure this won't be the last time I use it.

Slow Cooker Enchiladas

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2009
I didnt love it but I thought it was ok. Had good flavor. I cooked chicken breasts in the slow cooker with the soups and added a can of diced green chiles. Shredded it and did the layers in a casserole dish. I didnt like the texture of the mushy corn tortillas but overall, I would make this again!

This was delicious!! I used beef broth instead of the water and a can of Rotel instead of the diced tomatoes. Everyone thought it was great!

BBQ Bacon Ranch Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2009
Good stuff! Had to stop myself from eating too much before dinner to save room. I thought bbq sauce would overpower the dip but it didn't! Served with hard flavored crackers and corn chip dippers. Thanks for the recipe!

These are really good. The chocolate filling is sweet! Balances well with the pb cup bottoms though. Yummy!

Zucchini Ribbons With Goat Cheese

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
I liked the flavors very well. Hubby said it tasted like a dish from Applebee's, but he couldn't remember what dish. He liked it. Crushed Red Pepper gave a nice little kick. Made the dish according to the recipe, including the goat cheese and shallots which I have never used before. I didn't know how much 2 large zucchinis would be, but used just one about 4" across and 18" long. The final dish was really full of liquid cooked to directions. I didn't want to cook them too long, and zukes always cook water out, so the dish had more liquid when done than when it started out, even with boiling. Goat cheese melted nicely and fresh basil gave a nice finish. All in all I will make again, leaving out the broth, and just do more of a stir fry like BigShotsMom. Great idea though, and thanks! 8/12/09-Read SweetBasils comments about amount, and I can say I definitely didn't have that much zucchini in the skillet which may have affected the outcome, and my veggie peeler is really small so the strips were skinny. We had as leftovers the next day and my MIL thought it was really good too! It's a keeper!

I can't get Pimm's so I used Bombay gin and it was delicious and refreshing. I omitted the pineapple and poured the gin into glasses then poured the steeped lemonade over that. Lovely!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2009
Tasty and SUPER simple to make. I timed it -- this only took me 4 minutes to get all ingredients together, then open and dump into the crock pot. I used frozen precooked chicken strips and was able to shred them later in the crock pot just fine. Nice and spicy, great texture and the crushed tortilla chips on top give it just the right amount of salty and crunch. Even my mother-in-law liked it!

Sirloin Marinara

I used Mid's Pasta Sauce, added fresh mushrooms, fresh oregano, basil, and parsley. I also used about a cup of merlot. The meat was very tender. A new twist on my old spaghetti sauce. Served with pasta instead of garlic mashed. Very good!

It was a wonderful and easy to make meatloaf. I tend to like kethcup more, but I was very impressed with this one. I put the barbecue sauce bottle and the kethcup bottle on the table when I served it so that we could add what we wanted on top of it though.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Good cookies! I didn't overmix, first cookie sheet I rolled the balls after I coated them and they flattened out, the next 3 trays I scooped and just gently rolled around in the sugar and placed on the sheets and they were nice and plump, didn't spread out. These were great! Some I let rest a minute before taking off tray, some I didn't, were fine both ways.
