Strawberry-Nut Pinwheel Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2008
Terrible cookies. The dough was impossible to work with, even after refridgeration. The jam seeped out, leaving minimal flavor. I will stick to to jam thumbprints from now on.

Garlic Bread Mama Rita's Way!

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
Delicious and easy garlic bread. I liked the addition of mayo and the use of fresh basil. Will make again.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
This was my first time making spaghetti and meatballs from scratch and I was surprised by how easy it was and how delicious the sauce was! To the meatballs, I added a few extra spices as recommended (basil, oregano, garlic, chili powder) and I used oatmeal instead of breadcrumbs. I added some tomato sauce to the spaghetti sauce and doubled the spices. I agree with the other reviewers that cooking the meatballs in the sauce gives it SUCH a savory and delicious flavor.

Easy, Speedy Corn Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
These muffins are very moist and very quick to assemble. I added a dollop of sour cream and got 15 servings. I served these with a Cobb Salad and Peach Soup. Thank you!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
These cookies are delicious, but I've had better home-made chocolate chip cookies. They were good, but I was expecting better. I recommend decreasing the temperature to 325 and baking for ~15 minutes.

Split Pea Soup with Rosemary

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2008
This soup was pretty good. I followed a reviewer's advice and added 1 tbs. dried rosemary, which was a little over-powering. Instead of bacon, I added shredded lamb at the end.

Party Punch VI

Reviewed: May 6, 2008
this recipe was a hit at my 3 year-old's birthday party. All my relatives asked how I made it, and they drank it all! I made it according to the recipe, but used raspberry sherbet and Minute Maid Brand fruit punch from the refrigerated section.

Perfect Sesame Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2008
This recipe is truly a high quality restaurant style meal. I reduced the sugar to 3/4 C. and I added 2 tsps. of chile paste because we like a little heat. I took the advice of other reviewers and used peanut oil- which has a high smoking temperature, and is more traditional in Chinese cooking. I served it withe steamed broccoli and white rice, which the sauce tasted great over. Although it is a little time consuming it tasted alot better than Chinese takeout. My 2 year old loved it, and so did my husband- he wanted to know if there were seconds!!This recipe is definitely going in the rotation.

Easter Surprise Cupcakes

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2008
The batter had a great vanilla taste however these cupcakes cooked up very heavy and dry. I did not have any problems with the chocolates as I used mini Cadbury eggs and they have a thick covering on them. The girls loved the surprise inside. Just not a great texture - I like a light and fluffy cupcake.

Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2008
Extra yummy! We made pastel colors and decorated Easter cupcakes. I think we have more icing than cupcake - however the girls would just eat the icing off the spoon and pass on the cupcake.
