Turkey Ragu with Fontina and Parmesan

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
Ground turkey was buy 1 get 1 free this week and so I needed to find a recipe that I could use it. I made this and was really glad. I used parmigano instead as that was all I had and it worked fine! I love this recipe because it was easy and very healthy.

Tzatziki Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
I was very disappointed with this recipe because it was still too watery and I even drained the yogurt overnight and salted and drained the cucumbers for about 3 hours. I didn't like the consistency of it either. I will not be making this again.

Graham Cracker Pudding Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
This was very easy and could have been easier if instant pudding was used. The recipe calls for 2 5oz boxes of pudding and I used just one of the small 1.5 oz boxes and thought it was plenty!

Easy Streusel Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
This cake was pretty good. Like many others have suggested, I too would have used brown sugar instead of cocoa. Also, the picture shows a glaze but this recipe does not include that. I found a vanilla glaze that went really well on top. 1 cup confectioners sugar, 1/2 tsp. vanilla, and 2 tbsp. milk.

Mushroom Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
I thought the patties were very bland but the sauce was good. I fried the patties and then let them simmer in the sauce for about 20 minutes. I think with some added garlic powder and some kosher salt, it would have helped boost the flavor a bit for the patties but I won't be making this recipe again.

These are "interesting" tasting. There are a lot of ingredients including peanut butter which I thought made them taste a little too interesting.

Kielbasa with Peppers and Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
This was such a nice way to change it up for kielbasa. I thought it was strange it didn't call for salt or pepper! I can't imagine not using at least salt for all those potatoes. I also added some fresh thyme and it was really flavorful. Next time I think I will add some pineapple as well for some sweetness.

I liked this rice a lot - I used brown rice, fresh thyme and bottled lemon juice and it definetely gave it a really nice flavor. I served it with chicken flavored with thyme with a lemon sauce. It all went together really well.

Three Cheese Manicotti II

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2009
i thought this was a great recipe. it was really easy. i used small curd breakstones creamy cottage cheese instead of ricotta because i had it in the fridge. and i found it very easy to use the barilla no boil lasagna noodles. i soaked them in hot water for about 5 min and then rolled the filling up inside them. it was SOOO much easier than filling shells.

I adore these treats. They are super easy to make, and taste like you are the best pastry chef ever. I take them to work and do they ever disappear quickly. Even though they take very little time to make, all my coworkers think I slave over the oven all day just to bring them in.

Blue Cheese Waldorf Salad

LOVE this recipe!! Uncle George says it surpasses my double layer pumpkin pie!!! Followed it pretty much verbatim and added romaine for the old school way mommy used to make waldorf. I also add a nice piece of grilled chicken breast to make a great lunch!! This will be a family staple for years to come!!!

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2009
Delicious. Had to substitute the ginger root w/cinnamon and used about half of the amount. I also added flour to the chicken strips since everyone else seemed to like that idea, and after dipping chicken in sauce and adding to my large cast iron skillet, I dumped the rest of the sauce in, making a thick sauce. Almost too sweet.
