Reuben Sandwich II

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
I love reuben sandwiches and I've made them before using other recipes, but I really liked how this recipe says to layer the meat and cheese and the suggestion of puting the dressing on both slices of bread. I used to just do one layer of each, but this way is much better!

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
I made this the other day using steak instead of a roast. It takes a long time to cook, but it's worth the wait. It turned out really well!

Bacon Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
Bacon and anything=great meal! I've done a turkey wrapped in bacon and silly me never thought to try it with a chicken. This turned out great, very moist and tender. I rubbed the butter under the skin and only used half as much broth turned out Great! Will definately make this again and again!!

Butternut and Acorn Squash Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
So SO good! I also did not find it to be too rich, but I do have a sweet tooth. The cinnamon was a great touch-also adding sour cream at the end is a MUST! Use light cream cheese for a very healthy but very filling soup!

Golden Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2008
Wonderful dish. I did do some changes and followed others direction to braise the chops and saute the onions in butter. I didn't have mushrooms and added red pepper. I also added garlic, 1/2 cup sour cream and 1/2cup white wine to the soups mixture. My family had seconds and mom even licked the plate, literally. This is a keeper.

Special Irish Beef Stew

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2008
As others have stated, this is a REALLY tomato-y stew recipe. I countered it by adding a second can of beef broth. I used 2 lbs. of meat, a little less carrots and a little more potatoes than called for. Also a touch of oregano and basil. And it definitely needs salt and and pepper. My husband loved it and this will be our keeper stew recipe as I've been looking for a good basic one for quite some time. Thanks!

This recipe was fast, easy and delicious. We were eating faster than we could of been if we had it delivered! We added some Tastefully Simple seasonings to the crust to make it even tastier. We will make this again for sure.

Bacon-Colby Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
This was sooo good! I added 26 oz of sauce instead of 15, and used no boil noodles. I also made sure to drain all of the grease from the meat so it would'nt be too greasy. Delicious! Thank you!

Sausage Gravy III

This was super yummy, but took forever to thicken. It was also watery the next day. Hubby actually suggested using half n half next time. I'll try that next time.

This is really good and my boyfriend really liked it too. I used Cornflake Crumbs instead of rice crispies, only because that's what I had on hand. next time I will use more cheese. I will be making this again and again.

Whole Wheat Beer Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2008
Oh my goodness, this is fantastic-and so simple! Perfect with soup. I love how it’s so quick and you don't have to let anything rise. Unfortunately, I didn't have whole wheat flour, so I used all-purpose for the entire thing-I know, not as healthy:) Next time I will try oat flour- you can make it just by pulsing quick oats very finely in the food processor. Make sure you check yours all the way in the middle-mine takes a long time and sometimes turns out sticky!
