Tomato Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
This is very good and surprisingly light. I tend to saute breaded chicken for 3 minutes/side prior to baking the full 20 minutes. No need to marinate chicken as the tomato/marinara sauce on the bottom of your baking dish acts as a "waterbed" and steams and moistens the chicken.

Gourmet Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
It was OK. Probably a bit more cream cheese and garlic salt for my liking. I'll try it again and reduce those ingredients and add a sharper cheese other than Colby.

Chicken Piccata II

This really requires more flavor. 1 TBS capers, an additional garlic clove or 2 will help. It's also lacking in salt. 1/2 tsp is suggested.

Mom's Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2007
It was OK. The zip came from the ketchup/brown sugar/worcesteshire sauce topping. I think that meats require flavor these days and the worcesteshire sauce is best used in mixing meat.

Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
Sadly, this has now been dubbed the "3 hour coffee cake". It took that long to bake completely. Had to remove it from the bundt pan, cut into slices and bake on a cookie sheet to get some level of doneness. What should have been a delicious cake turned out bizarre. The recipe needs to be clarified and adjusted to meet a longer baking length. The temp should likely come up to 375 degrees as well.

Pan-Seared Chicken Breasts with Shallots

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
It was a good, solid recipe. Used already thin, natural chicken breasts. Cooking them for 10 minutes was a bit long. Would recommend going 7-8 minutes then allowing them to simmer in the sauce at the end.

Similar to other reviewers in that this is a very good base recipe. Making your seasoning choices is up to the cook's discretion. 1 tablespoon of cumin and a pinch of red pepper flake did do the trick.

It was OK. I expected more out of the spice mixture, but it fell a bit flat for me. The fish was light and flaky, however.

Pizza Dough I

Couldn't agree more with other reviewers. This dough required being baked at least 8 minutes prior to adding toppings. Beyond that, it really worked for my family. It's great with a variety of eaters and serves as a staple to have around.

Recommendations- For those who commented it wasn't quite sweet enough, I agree. Added an additional 1/4 C honey, baked it for 32-35 minutes. Noticed the first bread I baked was a bit overdone at 40 minutes. The second time baking it for less time and with a splash more of honey was what took the cake!!!

Black Forest Dump Cake II

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2003
This was so wonderful, I made it late one night to take into work the next day and everyone just loved it. I did not have any cherries in juice on hand, just the canned cherry pie filling so i just added a little water to the can after i emptied it and it worked just fine. I also melted the butter and used a lil more then called for and it turned out wonderful. Thank you for a great and easy recipe!

My Oma used to make this for me as a child, I misplaced her recipe and I tried this and it fit the bill perfectly! My german grandparents used to call this "polojinka" I make mine with Rosehip Jam in the center....if you are ever in a german store grab a jar of this jam you wont regret it. Thank you for replacing her recipe for me so I can enjoy it again with my family.

WOW what a way to snap up your red potatoes. I took advise from another review and melted the butter and milk, which worked out super, and also sauted onion and a lil garlic and mashed it with the potatoes another wonderful hint. I mashed these with a potatoe masher to give them a lil texture and served this with pork chops~super recipe thanks BT
