Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
Five stars+++++ This was so good my husband didnt even add any salt or pepper. I did end up doubling the sauce which I thought was the perfect amount. I also used 2 cups of frozen mixed veggies & the celery in recipie & added 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning. I mixed the sauce and veggie mix together before putting in shell. From the advice of another i used pilsbury ready made crust that just needed to be unrolled. I brushed the bottom shell with egg and baked for about 5 min. Cooked at 375 for about 45 minutes until it was bubling through the cracks. Next time I think I will let it sit about 10-15 min before cutting into it to let the sauce thicken a bit.

Not the best. It was really dry. The peas made it pretty gross, and I like peas. Sorry, but I won't be making this again

Frosty Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
This is really good & easy. My husband and I each took huge pieces but couldn't eat it all because it's pretty rich-didn't expect that. I this in the freezer about 5 hours-next time I'll try to time it so it's only in freezer for a couple hours. That way it won't be as "hard." I used a store bought grahm cracker crust. Topped with homemade whipped cream. Good Stuff!! And yes this would be great in warmer months as well as in the fall.

Shredded Beef Enchiladas

These were pretty good. I cooked all the tortillas in oil as instructed and then put filling in. By the time I added the filling the tortillas were too hard to roll. I think i should have fried & put filling in right away. My tortilla ended up looking like a taco because it wasn't pliable. None the less still good.

Awesome!! That's what my husband said about it. I cut the sauce in half and used a lb. of chicken and still had enough sauce. Not only does this taste great but it is sooo easy. Thanks.

This is sooo good! I didn't use raisins as we're not big raisin fans. I was going to put walnuts in but forgot...next time. I used the whipped cream cream cheese frosting from this site, submitted by Tom--very highly recommend.

Italian Breaded Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
Overall very good. I don't think I got the true flavor as the recipie intended due to changes I had to make. Couldn't find Italian bread crumbs so I used 1 cup herb seasoned & about 1/3 cup parmesan. I used 1 tbsp of parsely & 1 tbsp Rosa Maria Blend Bread dipping seasoning--didnt have italian seasoning like others said they used. I also coated the chops with flour b4 dipping in egg mix. I left the garlic in 4 tbsp of olive oil as well. Next time I will use less oil.

First time i've had this and glad I did. Instead of boiling the carrots/potatoes I steamed them (i think it retains more nutrients). Next time we make it I would like to add brown gravy as others suggested to give more flavor :)

Aunt Millie's Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
What a great way to eat broccoli! I used a two 12 oz. bags of fresh Dole broccoli (no chopping needed). Instead of boiling broccoli I steamed it for a minute. I also added about 1/4 cup half & half. Decided like others to use ritz crackers in stead of bread crumbs. First thing my hubby said was mmmm--it's hard to get much out of him & he's a tough critic, so that meant he really liked it.

Very delightful. I cooked the fish 2 minutes on each flip. Also took advice to put tin foil on buttered pan. Perfect as is but I might try to make some adjustments next time around-like less lemon juice and experiment with spices.

Super!! This is so refreshing & simple. I didn't use green grapes-only red, & used honeycrisp apple. This was even good on a cold November night in Nebraska :) It's a keeper. The hubby agrees.

Very good. Our grocery store doesn't carry shallots so i used 3 extra garlic cloves & a small onion--because of that the onion/garlic overpowered. I will try to find a store with shallots next time.

Jagerschnitzel

I made this for my two German exchange students; they pronounced it "Great"!! just like from home. It was very easy; I pounded the cutlets the night before, I used a combination of beef broth and boullion in the gravy. I served it with thick fries with the skin on, and fresh green beans!! Yummy- there were no leftovers. Thanks!

This is a great dish! The one thing I would have to say is use the fresh alfredo sauce that you get in the refrigerated section (if you don't make your own). The stuff that comes in the jar is horrible. Thanks for such an easy and elegant recipe!

Corn Cheese Chowder

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2008
This was a good chowder, although it needed a little boost...I added garlic to the onions. I used 1 can of creamed corn and fresh corn from one ear. I also added potato and red bell pepper. It tasted even better as left-overs!
